I used to be a regular commenter on maximumpc.com not too long ago, this magazine /website has been in steady decline over the years. Recently, the website was shut down and now apart of pcgamer, along with that, a great editor "Jimmy Thang" left the magazine which I consider to be a final nail in the coffin.

Did anyone else love maxpc? I used to listen to every podcast every week and I feel some remorse over the death of a great hardware magazine / website.

Are they still releasing magazines? I unsubscribed after Gordon left and that new ceo got in and murdered the community and closed the forums in favor of "disqus". They lost all their best journalists now and they shamelessly closed the website and made it pcgamer hardware section.

That is sad News! I use to read Maximum like clock-work back when I worked at Micro-center. Gordan was a cool guy also. But you know the saying as age everything starts to change.

On a similar note have you guys checked out this mag? CPU? its actually free and I always found they have mix between Maximum pc and Linus, good articles and all the stuff us power-users dig. Nick

I'm still subscribed, though the mag has taken a turn (some good but mostly bad) over the last several months.

Don't look at the website often so cant comment on that.

Hmm, I still find magazines easier to manage at times. It really depends on the design of the magazine.

Not yet, it'll be a while.

I work for a printing company....while it has ups and downs...it makes plenty of magazines.

Wow this stinks but I know what you mean. When the Computer Power User magazine and forums died, that was a real bummer. The forums were a small, tight knit community and they shut it down without warning.

Do not even bother with it anymore, it is just an advertising site and magazine now. It is just a shell of what it used to be. :(

Yeah... it's dead. They merged the left over scraps of maxpc into pcgamer and called it an upgrade. This is no longer maxpc in anyway after they lost all the great editors and journalist. Maxpc is now an empty shell and it's a matter of time before they remove the tiny "powered by maximumpc" tag from the hardware section.
