Hi Guys, I have a Shogun Bro's Ballista Mk-1 at the moment and I am not too fond of it, been using it a couple of years now and think its time for a change, away from a laser sensor! I am thinking of going back down the optical route and have my eyes on the Roccat Kone XTD Optical Max Customisation Gaming Mouse which seems to be an excellent mouse. I have a Rocatt mechanical keyboard which is great! What do you guys make of this mouse, anyone using it? Open to any other suggestions.
I always recommend the Razor Deathadder to people. Perfect weight, fantastic sensor and good software. All depends on your needs and tastes though really.
Just saying that Razer Synapse is the most stupidest driver software i've ever encountered, uses tons of resources, is basically always-on DRM, when its not running you're side buttons aren't configurable.
Depends on what is comfortable to you. I always have used Logitech mice until I got the Roccat Tyon but the Roccat is basically the same shape as the Logitechs. Razer mice just feel like crap to me.
LOL, well it's been fine for my needs. It's better than the corsair utility engine I have for my K70 rgb keyboard and Sabre rgb mouse. I also like the fact that it updates the mouse itself with your settings so that if you plug it into another PC which doesn't have the software installed, it keeps all your settings. Very useful if like me you go to LAN parties all the time and have 4 PCs. Tons of resources? Well currently it's using 50MB of RAM and 0% of the CPU. I also don't configure the side buttons so that's not a problem for me.
I am also quite liking the look of the Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum RGB Tunable Gaming Mouse, getting some rave reviews!
Choose mouse for your needs, some people prefer bigger and heavier mouses, some people prefer smaller and lighter. It also might depend on your grip. G502 and Deathadder are commonly used by gamers. Both are well built and somewhat heavier to provide better control. I have Deathadder2015, this mouse serves well in precise FPS gaming like CS:GO and RTS like dota2 where you have to move mouse a lot. It also fits well for my relatively big hand. If you have PC shop nearby, give it a visit and touch different gaming mouses. Pay attention how well mouse fit in your hand and its weight.
prefer go with Corsair & Logitech(keyboard-mice) i used Corsair M95 & Logitech G502-G602 they served me well and work perfect :rock::rock:
I strongly suggest against buying a Razer device. I have two, and I strongly regret buying them. Razer synapse suuuucks. Juding off the quality of my Logitech M510, I'd get the G502. I'm honestly looking in to getting one Edit: Lol @ the louis ck clip. Perfect description of Razer synapse.
I never really understood, why people having troubles with synapse. All I used it for to calibrate deathadder with razer goliath mat and adjust sensitivity. Never was interested in synapse additional tools or functions. If I needed specific mouse sensitivity for a game, I'd adjust it in it. Ah yeah, OP, if you go with deathadder I highly recommend getting razer goliath mat (speed version). It's smooth enough to quickly move mouse, yet soft to precisely stop mouse. Fits all games genres, in my experience. I got it to climb some ranks in cs:go.
Razer Synapse is BS. It apparently craps on older mice and uses a smoothing algorithm on newer ones. I have no idea who thought that could possibly be a good idea. I uninstalled it after I saved my settings to the mouse memory. I recommend a Logitech G502 or whatever the updated version is, which is probably the exact same thing but with adjustable LED colours. The only reason I got a Deathadder Chroma rather than that is because I thought at the time I was getting a good deal, prices here have become absurd.
My old original razer deathadder had different firmware to flash if you wanted mouse smoothing or not.. I disliked synapse, so usually used the legacy drivers instead but don't use the control panel apart from disabling the led. Configuring the buttons is never a problem as I always have x-mouse running https://www.highrez.co.uk/downloads/xmousebuttoncontrol.htm I now have a rival 300 mouse which isn't bad, but not quite as comfortable to hold as my old deathadder
I would recommend Steelseries Rival, best mouse i've had to this day. Only complain is the rubber padding on the side can wear down abit to quickly, but think that is corrected in the new Rival version
Been a Razer user for years . But honestly have to say the build quality just isn't there any more . On my second Razer mouse in less than a year and my less than 1 year old 180 dollar razer keyboard will have to be replaced this year . The synapse software is no good ! Nothing like the drivers/firmware before it . My wife is using the Steelseries mouse and keyboard and has have less issues than my razer stuff for a lot less cash .
My favorite mouse has been the DA Black Edition, but it is no longer in production. I tried the DA Chroma, but returned it because of its noisy scroll wheel. While looking for DA alternatives, I found the Roccat Kone XTD, which has outstanding build quality including the best scroll wheel I have ever tried. Unfortunately, the XTD has cosmetic light strips that make contact with the hand when using a palm grip, and the transparent plastic feels sticky and clammy. Although I would prefer an optical sensor, I am now using the Razer Mamba TE, which has a better scroll wheel than the DA Chroma.
