Everyone who owns the base game will get the enhancements for free! This wasn't originally the case, previously you would have needed the expansion to qualify but the devs have changed their minds.

I just want to say how much I enjoyed this game, for me it was the second best game of 2015 after The Witcher III and if you haven't played it I would highly recommend you buy it, especially now that the enhanced edition has been announced which goes far beyond being a simple GOTY edition.

There is a demo available for all platforms so give it a go and see what you think.

Haha..all respect i had for these guys is gone.

This **** should be in a free patch regardless or not if you plan on buying the DLC. What a joke.

Enhanced Edition. back in the day this would have been called "Various Fixes".

    Charging for a patch?

I think I'll use that money on W3, thanks.

You're not paying for the patch.
You are paying for the stand alone expansion, The Following, which includes the Enhanced patch.

Which means you're paying for the patch.

If you have to buy a product to get a "free" item, there is no free item unless you're getting two of the same thing, eg. Two for the price of one.

Either way, whats it matter really. You an me debating this for three pages isnt going to change their pricing scheme.

Great game, but Its not something i feel i need to play more of, so this really doesnt affect me at the end of the day.

Yep, I don't understand the negativity.

The enhanced features are just icing on the cake, the expansion map is bigger than either of the current ones so you're getting so much bang for your buck with the expansion, and now we're getting even more. It may sound harsh but if you don't like the game enough to buy the expansion do you really need the enhanced features?

The update is free, what you have to pay for is the DLC. :)

One again, why couldn't this all been in the initial release?

I'm not playing through the game again but I do look forward to the expansion.

Owners of Dying Light should get the Enhanced Edition for free, the image above is a bit confusing.

The middle "branch" is for current owners and the enhancements are tagged as free. The diagram looks like you first need to buy the DLC but that shouldn't be the case.

    How does that make sense?

You're paying for a stand alone expansion. One with a map larger then both maps of the base game combined. A brand new story, new weapons, enemies... drive-able vehicles.
And, in paying for this expansion, you also get (for free) an update that will add to the base game.

The Enhanced Edition features are a bonus for buying the expansion.
And considering the size and content of the expansion, you are not getting ripped off.

If this was DLC that was maybe an hour long, I could see the annoyance or dislike. But, this is a full blown stand alone expansion that is (in a lot of ways) larger then the base game.
Why is it so terrible that you get a free upgrade with this expansion?
This isn't a patch that fixes broken features. It doesn't address bugs or problems in the game.

The expansion is going to be awesome, I can't wait to play it with all the enhancements. It's so huge they could have charged way more for it, I got it super cheap I feel because I bought the season pass ages ago.

    Yes.
Since DX:MD was delayed... and there's no solid release date for Doom or Shadow Warrior 2, I finally have something to look forward to right out the gate in 2016. :)

I was considering picking up Dying Light in a Steam Christmas sale. That sounds like a dumb idea now, right?
