    The Winter Edition? Yesterday was the first day of Summer and it's now 33C (91F) outside! I hear my PC fans spin up and down while writing this.

    Hehe love the buyers guide. Running somewhere between Megabyte and Byte I'd say.

    I am not sure about CPU for high end build. Balance between CPU is GPU is not there.

    My opinion:
    Nibble = Core i3 processors or AMD higher end APUs.
    Byte = Core i5 processors.
    Megabyte = Core i7 processors 4/6 cores and beyond.

    You don't really need Intel 6 core CPU to drive 970, even 2500k still gets a job done.

    Maybe i've lost touch with market realities but I do somehow doubt anyone looking for guides for buying their PC will find the water cooling viable as a solution, starting at a mainstream PC version no less.

    I suspect 6/8 core CPUs were included because high end users might do things like rendering, which scale well with more cores. For just gaming and general use though, four cores should be enough for now. Actually, four highly clocked cores might even be better than 6-8 slower ones.

    And hey, I used to game at ~20 fps and target 30 fps when all I had was a GT 740M. It's not quite as horribly unplayable as you might expect.

    I even went down to <10 fps before that with integrated graphics (ATI HD 4200). It's surprisingly playable if you know what to do (i.e., look down at the ground or up at the sky for instant >20 fps when you need to run somewhere fast).

    That sounds horrible, but it's cool that you made it work :p

    I get headaches below 45fps

    I think it's rediculous to get the 5930k just because of the extra lanes, 5820k with 28 lanes will drive an sli just fine as 8x pci-e3 is already overkill. And also, good luck trying to match my 5960x@4.5ghz with a 6 core 5330k, I highly doubt you'd get similar performance by overclocking lol.

    Articles like this need to be very accurate as they're meant for people who dont know any better.

    For gaming the 5960X doesn't make that much sense either ;)

    Right now it doesn't but it will in the future, for gaming alone I'd get an i5. You don't spend 1000$ on a cpu for gaming alone, specially with directx12 that is the future.

    Edit: BTW I just realized that 5930k is what you have, what I said wasn't meant in a derogatory way.
