Yes, it will depend on the placement you choose. I used to use a short table next to my desk for my a test table. I found the best way the cool the GPUs better was to lay two 120mm high rpm fans between my 2x 290x's & another fan at the end of the GPUs blowing hot air out. I was mining at the time so all tge extra cool helped.
