The first benchmark just got released:

    http://www.pcgameshardware.de/Fallout-4-Spiel-18293/Specials/Test-Benchmark-vor-Release-1177284/

If CrossFire works, i would be happy with the performance. However, Some Nvidia card seem to perform better than i you would expect. If you look at the results of the 1080P benchmark, you can see that the performance of the Fury X and the GTX 780ti is nearly the same and that the GTX 770 is 6 procent faster thant the r9 290. I must say that i'm not even suprised anymore.

    * Please note that they did the benchmark with god rays set to high instead of extra. Extra uses Nvidia Gameworks. Nvidia users will take a huge performance hit if they enable it. I cannot imagine the performance on AMD hardware.

Uhm... they tested it under dx11, didn't they? Then I'm not too surprised that at launch AMD seems to have room for optimisation. Probably will come along sooner or later.

Nvidia Gameworks = AMD no performance

Probably best to limit tesselation factor, etc. like normal with NVIDIA tesselation games....

The tessellation factor sounds like a good solution. On the other hand the game sounds like it's optimized for crap. When a Fury X is behind a GTX 980, something is REALLY wrong with the game.

Knowing Bethesda since the Daggerfall days, don't expect anything from them. Here's to hoping that AMD can do something with the next Catalyst release. I can't imagine that this title wouldn't be on their radar for optimization. I'm also curious on how the game would perform if it was tested using the Skyrim Catalyst profile.

    Or it could be tessellation.

its probably tess, there is no way driver overhead effects it that much.

Best practice would be setting global tessellation maximum in CCC to 16x or 8x. You should see improvements.

The best benchmark is in your game on your own hardware.
If they activate God Rays @ Ultra or any GW thing, then ofc Radeon sucks & stutter. :)

They also tested the frametimes with medium settings. I know for a fact that i will get annoyed by those frametimes.

Normally i'm able to smoothen out the frametimes by using RTSS, but this just looks horrible :p
