I've been running my Asus rampage 4 bf3 edition motherboard and Ocz zx 1250 psu since 2011 Q3, Every so often i start getting warning on the 3.3v reporting that its running at 2.9v, ive read that ai suite has a habit of misreporting voltage i/o. Ive been running the ai3 suite for the last few weeks without problems until now, i was wondering if anyone else is having the same problem or if my psu is starting to fade to its death. I know Ocz isn't every bodies favourite but this psu has run flawlessly .
AI Suite is still garbage from the time I had it on I think a P4 board. There are better monitoring software out there keeping in mind the limitations of any software monitor.
Check the voltage monitor in BIOS. Though the readings should be the same as in Ai Suite (all my previous motherboards were Asus). The low voltage could be an early sign of PSU degradation I think.
your using software readings, they are inaccurate, hw monitor reads my 12v as 11v, what are your bios readings?
The OCZ Z series actually got good reviews from JonnyGuru.I wouldn't trust AI Suite try some different ones to see what they say but if you're really concerned get or borrow a multi meter and check actual voltages.I picked one up from CL for 20 bucks.
Bios reports 2.9-3.0v, despite the warnings... which is sometimes every few seconds when im watching a film from my seagate hd my system still runs stable with out any crashes.
I think I'd replace the PSU before it fails and possibly takes other hardware with it This might be the warning you wish you'd listened to 4 year old PSU has done well
Yeah, as BIOS reports low voltage too, replace the PSU before anything gets damaged. The voltage readings should show stable and preferably a little bit over nominal values (rather than any lower).
Well in the last couple of days the 2.9v warning has dropped to 2.8v although system still stable so ive ordered a Corsair HX1000i .
