Is it normal for the baseclock of my Kaveri rig to be jumpy?

Normal value is 200 (apparently), but jumps from 109 to 203 according to various programs. I've got spread spectrum disabled...

Aye, don't want it running a full 4GHz when idling...

That should drop the multi, not the baseclock.

    That was my thought, too.

All programs I use (Coretemp, CPU-z, OCCT) all show the same variation.

So should mine be, but it varies a lot from that, as low as 90 and as high as 110, if not more, sometimes.

Do not ask me, failed at building a small rig for the wife. Used a full ATX board: Asus A88X-Pro, because was lazy to change out the case. The base clock on that thing has been holding steady at 100 since day one. The only issues I had was going with Corsair ram modules; bios and board did not like. Went back to GSkill and all has been great.

have you left the FSB on Auto if so change it to 100MHz see if that helps
