My 970 is always stuck at maximum clocks in Windows 10 which is causing high temps when idle I've done a fresh install of windows 10 and it hasn't fixed the issue, I did a google and it seems some other people are having the same issue as well. Does any one here have this issue
have the same problem since i upgraded to windows 10, temps always on 3d...my power consumption plan is balanced, but in the video driver is high performance...tried to change to adaptive and still max clocks...
Same problem here with Windows 10. Adaptive or not adaptive it's always stuck at high clocks and heating up above 60c. WTH! :bang: I think it started after latest windows update. I will try to clean install the nvidia driver again. Maybe something was overwritten by the update. Also I had couple of scary black screens when the windows logon should appear. Happens after computer is shut down. Booting in to safe mode and then normal boot again worked for some reason. Something very strange is going on there. :3eyes:
Adaptive in global works for me in win10 for keep gpu at idle speeds when it should be, but forcing max performance in global like i did in win7 result in the gpu never clocking down.
Ok, it was indeed something that latest windows update did. I just reinstalled the latest nvidia driver (clean install) and everything is back to normal. Clocks dropping like they should when idle. So if you see this issue just reinstall the driver.
