So previously windows 7 i was running a custom resolution of 2560x1400 70hz up from 1920x1080 60hz 24/7 without issues

Not DSR, Just a custom resolution.

Since upgrading to Windows 10 and installing 353.62 & trying a Fresh install of 353.62

I'm unable to make a custom resolution sometimes it will say no supported, other times it WILL accept it but will not save the resolution, soon as i launch anything or refresh NVCP it will revert back to 1920x1080

Anyone with this issue or had it and resolved it?

only thing I've not tried is a clean install of windows 10 yet.

Edit: can ignore, guess i've sorted it for now

installed 353.30 created 1440p 60hz then let windows upgrade to 353.62, it's kept my custom res and works.

Just use nvcrbt to save all your custom rez. Simple restore it when you have done with the new driver install. Will save it until you install new driver. That is what i do all the time. Takes 5 click instead of spending 10-20 min to make them all again. Even if i do clean install option.

Mine won't even accept a custom resolution at all. It says test failed custom resolution not supported by your display. :(

    What's nvcrbt?

    More info here: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=373845

Ohh, you can make your custom rez in win 8.1 too and just save it with this utility then restore it in win 10.

i've had problems with custom resolutions ever since getting my 980 for example.

Nothing can fix the problem, DSR works fine up to 16x resolution.

CRU doesn't work, ends up having the same problems as doing it the normal way

I've long since cleaned the registry of my custom resolutions I used with my 570 unfortunately. And even if it could restore those resolutions, it would likely produce the same visual result.(Flickering single line, blank screen, etc)

This will be useful going forward when installing new drivers though for custom resolutions that do work.
(Stuff up to about 1.5 x 1.5 works without much problem. Anything beyond that, no matter the base resolution of the monitor, flat out doesn't work or becomes problematic. Ex: On a 768p TV, going beyond 2049x1152 is a problem. Getting 2x2;2732x1536; is impossible. Where as on a 1600x900 monitor, I can get upwards of 2880x1620 with a bit more work. Though 2732x1536 works no problem. I made a thread about this at the beginning of the year.)

Hmm, Nice, but it works fine for me. But doesn't probably round the resolution numbers. Like in NVCP 1.78x gets me 2560x1440. Using the mod tool, it gets me 2566x1442.

I find such multiples useless anyway. I only use multiples that don't require rounding.

And unfortunately the way the tool implements increments (which might be a driver limitation actually) doesn't work the way I need it to.

So I stick to whole integer scaling. 2x2=4,3x3=9,4x4=16. And Whole + half scaling. 1.5x1.5=2.25,2.5x2.5=6.25,3.5x3.5=12.25,etc.

353.30 only one which doesn't break custom res and scaling for me.

if only we could find out what file/registry whatever is edited when you create a custom resolution, we could bypass nvidia's control panel and add it manually.
