Got a new Fury X today, running into crashing issues.

    System:
    PSU: Corsair CX750M
    CPU: 8150 8 Core
    Motherboard: Asus M5A99X
    RAM: G Skill 1866 8gb
    SSD: Samsung Evo 850 250gb

CPU has a water cooling block as well. Previous card was an Nvidia 760 FTW.

Running the proper drivers 15.15.1004. Tried multiple wipes, registry deletes etc.

Card runs fine until temp starts pushing 78 degrees. Then crash. Random crashes every little bit too.

Cannot find proper documentation on whether my power supply is sufficient for the card. I have seen reports of 600-750 being the minimum, so I didn't think it would be a problem.

    Any help would be great!

If the PSU is not faulty it should be enough.

    What kind of crash?
    BSOD?Restart?Freeze?
    Any on screen message?

Did you unninstall Nvidia drivers and DDu before install AMD drivers?

    Fury X? 78CÂș?

Weren't these new cards supposed to run in 50's even under load? I'd check cooling - how is your rad mounted? With the 295x2 it had to be above or even with the card - maybe that's the same with the fury?

78C?? Seems high. One thing FuryX has is temps. Something is wrong here. Are you sure everything is hooked up as should?

Seems to be hooked up right, water cooler is above the card. Yes DDU on the Nvidia drivers.

Going to try and move the pump around a bit to see if that will help...

When I saw the temps, I was like "really?". Yeah and I thought the 750 would be enough as well.

The tower is 1 inch from an air conditioning vent as well, I have twin 120's pulling in air from the front, a side 120 pulling in air, and the 2 radiators pushing out air, flow is really, really good with the side 120 pulling in from the air conditioner vent.

    Where's the Fury X cooler?

above the card mounted on the top fan slot. CPU block is on the back slot. HAF 912 tower.

The PSU has 2 8 pin outs, and I have them both hooked into the card as required in the instructions.

Just tested again after another DDU wipe and driver install.

Started up Path of Exile, and before starting it I was at a stable 62 for around 5 minutes. Then hit run and was up to 75 by the time I was loaded in. Took extra time to load in as well.

I exited and shut down before black screen. Fan was running at almost 4k right before shut down.

What are your system ambient temps (HDD's), CPU?
If they're not running hot then it sounds like a faulty GPU/cooler.

This temps are not normal, maybe the pump is faulty, don't know.

Be prepared to RMA if you bought it online....

Normal and have been for a long time (not a new system).

Of course I get the one that needs RMA'd :)

I would try reseating the block to make sure you are making proper contact.

    I wouldn't mine does not hit 60
there is something wrong take it back.
if you start fiddling or leave it too long they may try to argue.

If you're still having issues then you could check out the official AMD support forums. There's always someone there ready to help.

This is what it sounds like to me too, maybe the pump is not getting power

Does sound like it could be a pump issue, as 78 is definitely way to high, normal underload temp is between 50/60.

PSU is enough, so id rule that out.

I think I saw another Fury X user mention that the radiator had to be vertical (so at the back of the case, not at the top), above the card, and the hoses on the radiator should be at the bottom.

You say that you put the radiator on the top slot. Can you switch the radiator positions, provided that CPU radiator can operate in horizontal position?

From 60s to 78ish ..that's a lot of degrees to be thinking about bad positioning,I'd go with something wrong with the pump as well.

Not if the positioning means that liquid can't circulate properly (or at all) through the radiator. Keep in mind that newer Radeon chips can throttle like crazy if they start hitting thermal limits. We don't know how bad the cooling situation is until we see GPU clocks under load.

In cases like this it helps to consult the manual and check everything several times.
