I have 2 XFX R9 270x in Crossfire. I use Windows Media Player to play my videos. With Win10 drivers installed I'll try to play any type of video file & it give me a unsupported file error. I tried installing a codec pack with no luck. I did find if I disable Crossfire they play fine. VLC plays them with Crossfire enabled, but I use the Explorer play all function a lot & I can't get VLC to do it. I've tried 15.200.1023.3, 15.200.1023.7, 15.200.1040.0. Anyone else have this problem & know how to fix it? I'm currently using Win8.1 15.6 drivers so I don't have to dissable Crossfire to watch my South Park, Family Guy, & Big Bang Theory to go to sleep. LOL
Unrelated to the problem you're having but you should really use another video playback software. Try https://mpc-hc.org/ it's free, open-source, and very good
I will second this as well as SVP "smooth video project" which uses MPC is night and day difference in video experience
As video or audio player official MS WMP is a joke. Use the linked Media Player Classic Home Cinema for simple videos as videoclips, MediaMonkey for audio and Kodi as Multimedia Center for movies, concerts and TV/PVR. A good codec pack like shark007 one is not a bad idea too.....
Thanks for the replies. But I was looking for a fix & not a walk around. I've tried all them players & the Explorer (Play All) function doesn't seem to work for me. MediaMonkey does seem to work. Reminds me of WinAmp. Not crazy with the interface for videos. For Movies I use Kodi (XBMC). Been using that from back in the org Xbox days. For music I use Clementine. I started using it in Linux. The WMP isn't great, but every night when I'm ready to go to sleep. I like to open a folder & select play all on shuffle, set the timer on my TV & go to bed. Quick & simple. I already have a hard time turning my mind off to get to sleep. Also one other thing that doesn't work is Assetto Corsa. Even if I create a profile in CCC to disable Crossfire. All I'll get in the game launcher is a black screen. If I turn off crossfire it will work.
A fix for WMP? It's called Windows Media player Classic Home Cinema don't expect anything better from MS itself. For Asseto Corsa and crossfire there is a thread here: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=397771
