Anyone watching the new series on USA Network called Mr. Robot? When I first saw the title months ago, I admit to being uninterested. I heard it was good recently so I checked it out. The pilot was a masterpiece, one of the best I've seen in a long time. The 2nd episode was good as well. It has a dark take on the world. I'm intrigued by where this may be going. Great nerd show if you like hackers/hacking. :nerd:
I've been watching it's good so far and it gets crazy ratings on IMDB, i'm also watching Halt and Catch Fire, really good, reminds me of mad men but with computers.
The show has hacking content but it's not just about that. It's about how ****ed up modern society is and big corporations. It hits home to be honest. The hacking part just gives it an extra edge. Elliot is believable imo.
I've seen the pilot, but I'm not sure I'm willing to waste my time on it, if it ends up using the same twist as Fight Club. It looks really likely so far.
It's pretty good, I like the characters, especially Elliot, perfect fit for the role. I already feel sympathy/compassion for him. Although.. Spoiler why the **** did mr robot have to push him off the cliff, ****ing bastard?
someone else told me about this show as well. I'm never in a rush to watch a TV show. I'll wait to see if it lasts and if the reviews remain well I'll take a look at it.
Oh it will last alright. I'm very very hyped about the next episode cause of the ending of the second episode.
Spoiler The drop wasn't too far, he probably just broke an arm again like when his father pushed him for telling his secret
Loving this show, the F society stuff is really hitting home for me. I also like that the hacking stuff isn't totally unbelievable like in 99% of media. The schizo twist on everything is great. I love how he thinks the audience is a delusion of his.
I have the first two episodes on the DVR, haven't gotten to them yet. So hard for me to allow myself to spend time on tv. I'll get to them eventually.
Not sure about the last episode (3). It was all over the place. Sorta went out of the usual play of things. Topic was Spoiler bugs in systems, and in people but It was wild
4 episodes in and I'm still liking where we're going here. I'm starting to wonder if all of it is in his head. F-Society is just another manifestation of his schizophrenia...? As to the hacking elements that are shown: I don't know diddly about hacking but we (at this forum) all know enough about computers/computing to despise the standard, insulting, Hollywood representation of hacking. You know, the kind where there's some BS graphical user interface with a digital narration to hold the hand of all the clueless people so they can follow along easier. Mr Robot feels much more authentic.
