I am using Afterburner for recording a desktop. It is working perfectly and it is really easy to use. However I do find it confusing because there is no notification the screen is recording. The only way I found it to look at the record folder and see if a new file appears. Not the greatest way in my opinion. I have look around online but have found nothing, so my question is. Is there a way to make something appear that shows the screen is being recorded? For example maybe changing the icon in the task bar or show the FPS counter in the corner of the screen. I just want something that tells me you are recording. EDIT* I am not sure if this should go in the Rivatuner Generic Discussion forum
If you bring up the OSD (typically via a hotkey) you will see a spinning circle if you are recording.
Thanks, sorry i could not get back until now, I can't seam to get my OSD to function. I have tried multiple hotkeys but no luck. When I press the hotkeys nothing appears. I have check Show system time and Show os screen display on capture screenshots and videos but no luck. Any ideas?
Correct. This is what I was expecting. I can see why people would want this disabled for recording a desktop. I myself don't really want this, however I want to have something appear on the screen to show I am recording the desktop. Ideally I would like a little recording icon appear on the task bar but I think that is pushing my luck considering recording the desktop is more of "side" feature of Afterburner. So I was thinking the OSD would have been a alternative. Not sure if this is possible
There is no OSD for desktop and never will be, sorry. But as gedo posted above there is blinking camera indicator in top left corner of monitoring window to reflect recording progress. If you have Logitech G19 keyboard, the same icon is also being displayed there.
