My old, aged and troubled Audi A3 has gone up for sale. Sadly it has given me almost two years of grief and I've spent more money on repairs than the cost of the car itself! I experienced ongoing issues such as electronic faults, bad sensors, warning lights, etc... Usually I'd visit the garage several times a month due to issues arising... Several days back I finally got something cleaner, very low mileage and extremely clean inside and out. It's a 2002 VW Beetle. Mileage is only 54,000 km. Shortly after buying the car it was given a full service, just to be on the safe side. Everything was checked, oil and filters changed, brakes, suspension, bushes, bearings, etc... Here is the new vehicle. All I need now are some decent alloys and window tinting.
Congrats dude! Nice looking compact and reliable car. On first look tought you were joking because first pic look like it's rendered Hope it'll serve you well.
^ Thanks CrazY_Milojko & slickric21. I am indeed very happy with the new car. So nice and smooth it drives compared to the old one...
Haha, strange choice. They're pretty decent cars though. Glad you finally got rid of that POS lemon though, it's about time. And deathchild I'm fairly positive he wants window tint to cut down on the heating of the car when it's sitting and in general. Dubai is a desert after all. I'm sure he's been given third degree burns one time too many by seat belt buckles :nerd:
Ouch, it's gonna be tight... I mean tight inside the car for comfortable xxx, no dirty thoughts please
enjoy its nice when you change car, I am looking at changing my X type Estate I like the XF sportbrake looking at getting it next year.
Haha. It'll hopefully help with the immense heat as well as keeping the sun out my face when I'm driving. You read my mind. As of now I'm receiving calls for the sale of the old car. Time wasters as usual that don't intend to pay the asking price! I've put it for $2000. Does that seem expensive or does it sound about right? It's 2003 model and done 150, 000 km. The car is clean inside and out. It was fully serviced and the changes include brand new: - Front tyres - Water Pump - Fuel Pump - Radiator Fans - Fully Synthetic oil for 10, 000 km - Oil & Air filter change - Fresh transmission fluid change - Air Conditioning Gas change I've even insured and registered the car for the next year at my expense. Whoever purchases the vehicle can simply drive it away...
You beat me to that comment, or nearly at least... I thought entry level cars in Dubai was 300hp+ Grats on new car mate, hope it came with AC
Haha, thanks. There are plenty of cheap cars around including many Korean cars. Toyota, Honda, Nissan and Mitsubishi are highly popular here among those with smaller wallets. And yes, there are quite a few V8 pick up trucks, Mercedes, BMW, Ferrari, Porsche, Bentley, Rolls Royce and Range Rovers. Those are for the richer folks out here! Simply put, the poorer ares have poor cars, the richer expensive areas are full of luxurious cars... Sadly, we cannot all afford 300+ hp super cars... I did once have an SL500 giving out 328 hp but sadly it was sold since I needed the money. Miss the good old times, burning rubber, burnouts and spinning wheels and watching the blue smoke in the mirrors. In my life I had two choices. It was either keep my 300+ hp Mercedes or sell the car to get married. Sadly, I took the wrong choice and got married. The car gave me more pleasure, never gave me headaches and never said no. And yes, the air conditioning is working just fine. In the heat that's the most important thing that MUST be working.
Finally!! Glad to hear that, you need some good wheels and a car who gets you from A to B. VW is a good brand and very reliable. The Beetle is as manly as it comes, just dress a bit smarter and use your best english accent. Will get you some nods. Just sell that Audi, somehow it becomed legendary here at G3d as a bad omen.Just get rid of it,don't stress about not selling at a price. Sanity is priceless, and you should make some changes also with the spouse.
^ Well put anticupidon. Many gurus here already know the amount of trouble I had with that Audi. I guess it wasn't meant to be since it gave me hell... As you mentioned, it was a bad omen and many people were advising me to get rid of it before it gets any worse... I'm flexible with regards to the selling price, just feel sorry for the new owner! That said, I will be honest with the person and advise them to take the car to a good electrician and give the car and good check! With regards to the spouse, she is like the sea. At times the sea behaves and is calm. At other times it is rough and unpredictable. It's normal for the average women. Some take longer than others to tame!
Not an unfair price at all. Just wait it out. People will always low ball you to see if you're desperate. To be fair, I doubt it has the same reputation in the middle east. Not to mention with such a low amount of KM on the clock, it really doesn't matter. I don't blame him for snapping it up after the Audi torture. It should give him a nice long life of problem free commuting.
I'm hating myself for saying this, but I've been holding back all day.... That's not a car. I'm sorry mate I just couldn't resist haha
Beetle's always remind me of the comedian Gabriel Iglesias. He had a Beetle once, and someone yelled out to him "Check out the Fat and the Furious!"
