been looking into this but found nothing confirming it or denying it and since this is a new card for me i would hate to have to buy a new one so soon.
As the C-Media CMI8788 DSP chip is used on the Asus STX , ST, DX, D1, DS, DSX sound cards and Asus still sells them, chances are Asus will release Win 10 drivers (someday). I would assume as C-Media writes the drivers for it's CMI8788 chip-set, it will be the one to come out with Win 10 drivers, which they will give to Asus, who will incorporate those drivers in a future software release. Check out the Unified Xonar Drivers, maybe they will come out with Win 10 drivers?
that C-Media CMI8788 DSP chip is also used in the stx II 7.1 as well so you can bet it will be updated as that card is their latest
I'm using a Xonar DSX on win10, and the only problem I've encountered is that you need to lower the sample rate down to 44.1K, otherwise some browsers will have problems with playing HTML5 videos. I had crackling sound on YouTube with Chrome, after lowering the sample rate, it disappeared. Thats with the latest Uni-Xonar Driver.
The dev is working on it. Though most people report functionality is OK with the Win 8.1 drivers on 10.
Had the same problem http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...s/cf9a784b-db20-4150-9dee-f9af63d03f43?auth=1 This fixed it. I could run the setup file and sound is working again on Windows 10 final
Nobody should be using asus bastardized cmedia drivers lol, original cmedia or unixonar are the proper ones.
Yeah, just stick with the uni xonar's. Far superior in everyway. Besides, it'll probably be winter before Asus comes out with official 10 drivers. Hell their lone 8.1 driver is still labeled a beta.
the uni xonar drivers on windows 10 are not giving me the same clarity the official drivers did in windows 8.1
I have xonar d1 and everything works fine You just need to edit driver installation ini file Not to check for windows version and that's it. Else it failed to install for me cause of Unknown system.
Lol so you really think they will make a whole new driver hahaha? They will just edit it and put it online, but i am sure you won't call it bastardized then lol
I had to manually install my DGX. 5.1 wont work. It just comes through the front speakers. When I did the Win 10 upgrade, it worked as should. But with a clean install, the driver would not install. OS not supported even using win 8.1 drivers. Hopefully I can get the UNi to work. Besides the zero vram bug in Afterburner and AID64, memory leak in BF4, and sound card, everything else in Win 10 is great.
