Ordered myself two for SLi - (MSI - not that it matters reference wise).

Will post back once I have them with Overclocking results etc :)

    - Did anyone else pick one up today? :)

    Grats!

I am close to pulling the trigger, I might wait until either more of the ref's are in stock or some customs come along. I expect to see similar performance to 780-SLI but will buy another later down down the line.

I need the upgrade and will probably get one but will wait for customs and full coverage water blocks.

The only custom worth buying is the Classified for the Voltage unlock. The rest of the reference cards can/will be flashed with a bios and bought up to a level of there higher clocked alternatives. Especially if your going under water i would buy reference or wait an eternity for the classified.

The other option is just to stick to air and get one with a decent air cooler that keeps things cool 'n quiet and can hit 1400+ on the core. These 980ti with around 1500 on the core will be pretty nice.

So damn close to titan x performance and not much more than a 980. Sounds like a win win.

the 980ti is £150 more than the 980 in the UK atm.

    reference 980ti = £539
    reference 980 = £389

You're paying 39.5% premium going from 980 to 980ti. That's quite a bit more, IMO, mate. Let's not ignore the 980 price drop :p

In US prices the difference is less.

I'm sure of that, I'm just speaking for the UK. It'll be interesting to see what happens to the prices after the market settles a little bit.

EDIT: Just checked Newegg, MSI gaming 980 can be had for $509, reference 980ti for $649. That's not as bad. I would go with the ti, sure. The market needs to settle a little bit, it's a bit wild atm.

Dunno man, that sounds like a Loooooong waiting game to play, just to get extra 50-100mhz on the core. I'd just snag up a nice 3rd party 980ti if I was you and be done with it.

I may have to go that route. Hope the pencil MOD works on the reference 980Ti's all I'm looking for is a stable 1500Mhz on core.
