Apparently overclocking laptops is slightly more important than preventing desktops from black screens, crashes and random restarts...

It would appear so. They really should have sorted it out before the weekend. Now we probably have to wait till next week sometime.

Yeah that must be it. A fix they already know how to do and released vs a fix they need to investigate and resolve it. But you're right, it's NVidia giving the finger to desktop.

Good drivers, no issues and good with the Witcher. The .inf file already contains info for all cards.

It is more important when the public response to an issue like this is:

"0mg pls nvidia y REMOVE MOBILE GPU OVERCLOCK PURPOSELY?#@!?#@?@?!@@@!!"

Or this was an easier fix, so was released quicker

Yup, for sure its easier fix , they know what to change .
The random crashes are going to take much longer to track down as they must of passed there internal testing the first time .

I would expect either to revert back to older branch or it be a while before fix, but that's just a guess from past similar issues .

NOTE: This hotfix driver is only for GeForce Notebooks. There are no changes pertinent to desktop GPUs.

Next time make effort for using correct title please.

To Moderators, please fix thread's title. Thank you in advance.

    @CK,

It really doesn't matter about the title, because it will be the first thing people will see when the follow the URL to Nvidia's site.

Also the unmodified Nvidia .inf file contains all Nvidia products and not just mobile products.

Edit: Wondered if Nvidia pulled the link because it doesn't work now.

Heavyhemi is going to do the impossible and kill his GPU, everyone watch out! :p

Ignorant posts like these are why we can't have real discussions here. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Just because it's a new driver, does not mean it will automatically, magically, seamlessly "upgrade" your graphics performance. Might be even worse.

And yet, this is a hotfix driver for the mobile GPU series:

I guess drivers are just like drugs

Nvidia has made undocumented changes to their drivers before.

..however you want to see this thread filled with spams from desktop users ?
I don't,so thank you for changing the title mods.
This driver is same as 352.86, I won't even think that even a single Nvidia employee fixed something for desktop issues and didn't advertise it.

No its not the same, otherwise it would be from same sub-branch etc,..

It may not contain any fixes, but its still newer.

    See what dr_rus wrote.
