Help needed, flickering red lines after upgrading to a geforce 970 gtx After upgrading to a geforce 970 gtx i played casually for the first 2 days with no issues. After that, i played on my hdtv for a few hours. When i switched back to the led monitor and started playing gta 5 these flickering red lines showed up in less than 2 minutes. youtu.be/MuBfmcG_pDY At first i thought it was related to the card's temperature as it stops a few minutes after closing the game, but one time the issue got worst and the temperature was at 38 deg. celsius. But what's more strange is i have absolutely no issues when i'm playing on my hdtv, even after hours of gaming at the same settings. When i switch back to the led monitor, these lines show up in about a minute most of the time. Anyone have an idea what might be causing this? I already tried a different HDMI cable, but nothing changed.
my led monitor is a syncmaster s23b550 my hdtv is a 40' samsung i7 960 @ stock asus p6x58d premium 12 gb ram pny 970 gtx (xlr8) amd hd 5870 (old card) corsair 850 hx psu
You have moved from an amd card to a nvidia card it could be a driver problem use a driver cleaner and remove all amd and nvidia drivers reboot and install nvidia driver. I use 40in TV and projector of my PC TV dvi to hdmi projector hdmi
I did a fresh os and everything else install. I apparently fixed this issue. I did 3 things different this time, i bought a hdmi to dvi adapter and used the dvi port, when installing the nvidia drivers i chose to not install nvidia hd audio and i also changed colors from dynamic to full. I'd guess either the adapter or not installing nvidia hd audio did it. Thanks guys!
I'd lean more toward the adapter... I've seen some bad video cables or adapters cause lines in my display before.
