$500 USD gaming PC. Which is the best for GTA V at 1080p? CPU: AMD FX-8350 or Intel Core i5 4460. GPU: AMD R9 280X or Nvidia GTX 960. (PSU/HDD/CASE not included in price)
It looks pretty GPU heavy so at 1080p it prob won't matter which CPU you get, however if u intend to go Crossfire/SLI at some stage u may be better with an i5.... I'll have the game next week so if you're still deciding I could tell u how it runs on my machine...
It's quite heavy on the CPU too. I had to set the game to VSync at 60Hz since the game ranges from 73-100FPS without loading the GPUs to 99% while driving. There will probably be a patch or two to bring performance up while driving and eliminate strange FPS dips, but for now, the game is heavy enough on the CPU to cause crashes with CPU overclocks that were deemed stable with other games but are not with GTA V. I would recommend the i5 4460 + R9-280X combo as well.
Geez DX11 is quite friendly towards Vishera these days but the 9590 is getting hammered by a stock i5..? What's up with that? Interesting results too, look at the 5960- it's hardly lifting a finger and still beats SB i7 which is working it's ass off..... Are these charts skewed or is the engine not right or..does IPC rule here? I haven't been paying attention tbh...too busy working.
Surprised the 4790K isn't on that first list, but the 4690K is. I can probably guess that the 4790K would be #2 on that first chart?
Go with the Vapor X it has a very good cooler and you should be able to get a good OverClock with that cooler.
On second thoughts.... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202143 No Vapor Chamber cooling but damn it's only another $50.........:3eyes:
