New Windows 10 Drivers (17 April 2015) - Possibly just a Windowsupdate change...

    EDIT:
Others have reported that this is the one that is installed after build 10049. This did not show for me then (instead WU kept downloading the older driver). This update only showed this morning for me (18 April) after I did a manual check for Office 2013 updates. The date on the update description said 17 April.

Windowsupdate is undergoing change for Windows 10 as well. It's possible Microsoft made changes to Windowsupdate. Just a guess!

For those that didn't have a fully featured CCC even with the latest Windows build, you probably have had the same issue as me in terms of the driver not updating. It is fully featured, and the options in CCC like HDMI scaling, custom HDTV resolutions etc are all there.

    ******************

Hi to all those using Windows 10 TP and have AMD cards!

It appears that a new Windows 10 beta driver is released. This seems to be much better than previous drivers. It also includes all the functions in Catalyst Control Centre that were missing with the previous beta driver.

    Update now! :)

This is the first Windows 10 driver I'm happy to use.

    Driver Packaging Version = 15.20-wNxt-150401a-180730E-ATI
    2D Driver Version = 8.01.01.1487
    Direct3D Version = 9.14.10.01117
    OpenGL Version = 6.14.10.13381
    Mantle Driver Version = 9.1.10.0073
    Mantle API Version = 98307
AMD Catalyst Control Center Version = 2015.0401.236.2774
AMD Audio Driver Version = 9.0.0.9906

Keep in mind that even though individual version numbers can be the same, the driver may actually be different.

Yes, in Windows 10 it includes ccc2_install.exe as part of the driver.

Nothing showing up here and I'm using build 10049. Still says the 4/1 drivers are the latest.

Thought so, so nothing new at all. Same drivers that came with the latest build.

Really? Only showed up today for me, and in the description through the update control panel it said 17 April!

When I installed Windows build 10049 it did update the driver, but half features in CCC were missing.

Maybe Microsoft fixed an issue with WU not updating or something?

Wait, hang on! Let me check this out...

I don't know :) It literally only showed today, and I even checked again the other day after the patch Tuesday updates etc. The date on the update download said 17 April, definitely.

This is why I believe that if it truly isn't an updated driver, that it's a Windowsupdate change.

I should also point out that this update only showed this morning after I manually decided to check for updates (moreso for the intention of seeing if I missed installing any Office 2013 updates). Anyways, it was already over 8 hours into the 18th of April here, and yet the update for the AMD driver said (17 April). Oh well :)

What's the driver date? I stopped using 10056 yesterday, but I recall the WU driver date being 3/27.

    Edit: From endbase on MDL:

He also mentioned some instability with that driver.

Yeah that's the driver that installed, but seems to work fine here. The March driver was the only one that I had before, it sounds like you were affected by this Windowsupdate anomaly as well? The mystery continues :).

It was installed automatically via Windows Update yesterday on Windows 10 TP build 10056 for me. If anyone wants a link to download the driver so as to use it on Windows 10, here's a link:

    http://www.mediafire.com/download/9kz7uw4y17qh9bw/AMD-%2815.200.1018.1%29-WHQL-WDDM+2.0-DX12+driver+for+Win+10+TP-April+1%2C+2015.cab

As you can see, it's a cab file. You only need to extract it (by using WinRAR or 7Zip, for instance). You can update the driver through the Device Manager and then install the CCC manually. Don't forget to restart in order to avoid strange behaviour.

    Cheers!

Aren't the Lenovo drivers newer than this?

    Their version is 14.502.1020-win8.1-DT-WHQL-graphic-150323a-182262C-Lenovo

Lost crossfire (2x7970) with this drivers. The last one was working fine.

I was wondering about the build numbers, not so much the dates. If you notice, at this moment there are two distinct drivers developed within AMD (as far as I can tell). The Lenovo driver has an earlier build date (by a week), but it feels like a different driver, and it's build number is actually higher.

    The plot chickens.

Must be an older release from a different branch.

Right now these drivers are like W10: Alpha version.
