Hello, My name is Jackson from Veridian Audio. I am trying to get my idea to public and I would like to seek the advice of this forum.I am not asking for any money at the moment only your feedback and support. The idea is to take the windows volume mixer and make it into a physical device. I have already posted my Version 1 to Kickstarter https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/94625964/mixology-a-volume-mixer-for-gamers with minimal success. I have received a ton of valuable feedback and will be returning with a better version 2. With version 2 my target price point is $100USD and I also hope to include a high quality audio codex for a headset. If you are interested in Mixology please like my page and keep in the loop. Facebook Link And mods I will be sending a demo unit soon as i have the prototypes for version 2 ready.
Interesting, you sure the market is there? I do find windows Vol mixer to be a total pain in the ass, what would be helpful is to have volume profiles since configuring it is always done after the launch of an application. IE if im playing Wargame and listening to some Warbringer on spotify, finding that right adjustment between the two takes some time. Also the Windows Vol mixer always crashes every now and then, a rainmeter skin that goes with your product would be nice, or perhaps just the rainmeter skin on its own? I imagine your product somewhat already exists fyi.
This will fail at $100 USD. I promise you. It's a good idea, BUT, it needs to be rolled into some other function to encourage people to buy it. Almost nobody will want to spend money to do something they can already do for free, even if it is sub-par. My recommendation? Roll this into a mechanical gaming keypad. Those have a market, and one with screens AND the mixology concept rolled into it would be very nice indeed.
Thanks for the feedback guys. To be honest I do not know if there is a market for this but its an idea I would like to fully explore. TekkMarine, there already exists software that can do what i'm trying to achieve with keyboard shortcuts but I want this to be 100% plug and play simple. A rainmeter skin would be neat but if your in game your not looking at your desktop. I appreciate any feedback and referrals you can give me.
