This is a new episodic game in 5 episodes (first part was released today) by Dontnot Entertainment, who made Remember Me, and published by Square-Enix, basically a mixture of a Telltale point 'n' click adventure, Gone Home and anything by Quantic Dream/David Cage. Here is a brief Eurogamer look at the game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6002MXPR58 I just bought the whole game for £15.99 on Steam (Episode 1 can be bought for £3.99) but only had a brief chance to check it out before having to leave for work. It runs on Unreal Engine 3 I believe since it is DX9 but, as with all Square-Enix published PC games, it has all the graphics options you'd expect including support for up to 8xMSAA *and* FXAA. It seems to run well from a look at the start section, 60 fps, and image-quality is surprisingly good, helped by the really nice (IMO) art style. Lip-syncing, as seen in the EG demonstration, is a bit poor (unless it has been fixed in the final build?) but the game looks really interesting and I am a big fan of laid-back, story-driven games. Check it out.
I saw this and thought it looked pretty cool. The moment I read the word "Episode", I switched off. Fell for that with Sin and Half Life 2. I think I'll wait until all episodes are released and then pick it up.
You can now play the first episode for free http://store.steampowered.com/app/319630/ I've had it in my watch list for a while and just noticed it said "free" and was like wtf!? and then realized it's just the first episode haha.. Good way of getting people hooked I guess.
Looks like there is going to be more Life Is Strange~!~!~!~! "If you’re reading this, you’ve likely already heard or watched the news… we reached over 3 million unique paying players! It’s an incredible achievement and one we could not have reached without you, our fantastic community! You helped spread positive words about our game and have continually kept the world interested in what happens next. We also revealed a key piece of information that many of you have been waiting some time for now - we can indeed confirm that the original Life is Strange team at DONTNOD are working on a brand new Life is Strange game. We can’t wait to tell you all about it when the time is right, but for now we are hard at work ensuring it is the very best game we can create. We’re really thankful for your patience thus far and ask for a bit more time. The new game will not be at E3 in June this year but we will be watching the show alongside you all and wish everyone good luck!" https://t.co/a7yF6VQSA2 Sweet~ -- Would love to know why Tumblr links are blocked on Guru3D.
Bought this a while back in a sale, just waiting on the right mood to do a play through to enjoy it best
Yey! I liked the game. It's basically a "how Telltale games would look like if they were actually good."
