Hi, having i7-930 for a long long time, do not feel any weakness in games fps or others tasks, i wanna to upgrade to Xeon x5650 for some time, and now i found one for 120$. I wonder if 2 more cores and slightly higher frequency(cause Xeon is 32nm) give me noticeable performance increase? 1st)option upgrade to Xeon x5650 2nd)Also have option to go for 4790k, but it will costs me 500$ 3rd) Save money and wait more powerful CPUs What do u think about this?
Just grab some Z97 + 4690k with 212 Evo then do some overclocking. HT is overrated you dont need an i7 for gaming.
Actually some games are making use of more than 4 threads now, and it would be even more noticeable, at least I think, with those two R9-290X's in crossfire. Your RAM may be an issue though, don't know how you mixed it to get 15 GB, but most likely you will have to reduce back if you want to recycle that too. Keep in mind that anything Ivy Bridge platform onwards (so definitely the i7-4790K) loves faster RAM, with benefits up until at least 2133 speed. If you are running 1333 speed it will act as a mild bottleneck.
Having 4GB*3 Patriot + 1GB*3 Patriot Too. Decide to buy 4790k cause fin.crisis in Russia, the prices going crazy and seems it will goes up. Is it ok for 4790k to have 1.65v RAM?
Hi there, need one more advice, i'm choose motherboard. 1)Gigabyte GA-Z87X-OC 2)ASUS Z87-PRO no in shop 3)MSI z97 MPOWER 4)Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 7 Seems like ASUS is better by having Wi-Fi, ALC1150, but i wonder about PCI-e slots are too close. Using Giga MBs for long time, and this one seems sweet choice too. UPD: Decided to buy GA-Z87X-OC, but when i went to shop, they can't find it. So after surf internet i see that MSI z97 MPOWER have Bios with many mistakes and choose GA-Z97X-Gaming 7. Thx all for advices :grad:
