Hi, i just replaced my old video card with R7 260x 2GB OC (R7260X-OC-2GD5) and i think i have driver issues, i am not sure. I say that because after i changed my video card my PC started freezing completly random, no sound nothing, no blue screen, just freeze. (restart to resolve). After I replaced the card my PC started to randomly freeze, be it while installing a program, copying files or just being idle (once even during windows update after restart). The PC would freeze after 10 minutes, or after 10 hours, no rules. Also, while playing games no problems occured. First i reinstalled my os then i installed the omega drivers (latest drivers) and all fine but started freezing random. AND every time i turn on my comp and i call someone on skype it freeze and my image is broken for 1 sec, and my webcam doesn't work with skype . Sooo i tried the 14.9 drivers same issue. Then i tried the driver version from ASUS and no more skype issues (webcam working and no freeze on call for 1 sec) but still freeze random and it's annoying. I don't know what to do. Sorry for bad english. Thank you! R7 260x 2GB Oc edition Dual-core E5500 2.8Ghz (3.22OC) (Stock or not same issue) 4GB RAM Enhance 500W Gigabyte GA-G41M-Combo
i get freeze too while alt'tabing outside a game to open skype .. i got HD 7990 with latest AMD omega drivers
Sorry for my bad English too. If the software can't give you any reliable message to shows where is the problem and just freeze,it should be the hardware level issue. Uninstall omega driver and try to put back your old card. Here to find the driver that supports your old card: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download To see if same thing happens or not. If every thing back to normal,I will suggest RMA your new card or just return it to the shop you bought it and replace a new one. If possible try to record a video or go to youtube to find similar video, let them know what kind of freezes happened. There are many tweak guides like CCC/xml/down clock/add voltage/disable ULPS/change driver version on the internet.(All these are related to graphic card) But I doubt a user should do so many tweaks to let a brand new card work. Even If your hardware like CPU/memory/PSU/mainboard/mb. BIOS version has problem, use the tweaks above can't fix it too.
I changed old card and all is normal, no freeze or skype issue. I can play games hours and hours and no freeze but if i let it idle or browsing can freeze anytime, after 1h 4h 7h i don't know, random...
In this case you may try another card or just RMA your PC if you did not have time or another normal running PC to exchange component(mainboard/memory/hard driver/PSU) for testing. If the factory setting can't works normal ,I will take it whatever would be a hardware issue now and return it or RMA it. My story: 2 years ago I have a HD5570(old one on old PC) and a HD7850(new one on new build PC) . My old PC works normal. New build PC has random black-screen freeze issue, idle or gaming from first day. The new build PC is so powerful and brand new,and it only freeze once in one month,so I think it is driver issue, just as you think it may be a driver issue tor a tweaks issue.Or a BIOS upgrade issue. I google for the issue, tweaks solution. But none of them fix the issue. The freeze freq. more and more. Then think it logically. I did believe sometimes driver has some issue, then we can update it when new one released for more performance and bug fix. But,how would a factory send out a WHQL driver that will freeze PC random, this is not so call some issue,it let PC stop working. So basically I don't think a driver(WHQL) will freezing PC,also new driver support new OS(Windows 10 is coming),no reason for me back to old driver version. I RMA my HD7850 and put HD5570 on new build PC. But HD5570 sometimes give me the "display driver has stopped responding and has recovered" issue. Even if it works normal 2 years ago. Now my HD7850 is back on new build PC and seems my nightmare is gone.Though I am still not 100% sure,I have to watch it for more time, maybe.
This is a problem on your hynix ram clocks going up and down and freezing, amd could just update their bios to freeze the clock but they dont give a single ****, i will never buy amd products again
Before I go to NVIDIA I google it,I found similar case at NVIDIA: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/772676/gtx-750-ti-random-freezes-black-screen-issues/ https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/790991/sli/possible-12v-problems-gtx-680-sli/ Now I believe it is not about AMD or NVIDIA,it is the pure hardware issue. Choose what you like. If got problems,RMA or replace it ASAP,do not waste time on driver or software re-install or tweaks.
Sorry for bad English. I don't know. But really I almost go to NVIDIA.After some research 750ti is my choice. I RMA'd my card, but I do not expect it will be fixed.I heard some cases that one RMA'd card and still got bad card when it back. But the card that I RMA'd seems no issue anymore since it back to me.I will keep watching it.
