Sennheiser HD 598 Beyerdynamic DT-990-Pro-250 Audio-Technica ATH-M50xWH witch one to feed my asus essence st? Uses: Gaming, Music.
I have a Senn HD555 which I have applied the foam mod, making it sound more like a HD595, I also have a Beyerdynamic DT990 600 Ohms. I can say that the Senn would have better soundstage, with the Beyer having slightly better bass. Other than that, they have highs that some may think is a tad bright (I don't), with good mids. Can't comment on the 50x but many seem to like the M50/M50x, though I think they're overrated. Do wait for more opinions/impressions as I'm hardly an audiophile..... I'd say choose between the HD558 and DT990/250.
Check out the Audio Technica ATH-AD900X open headphones. More "life" to the audio then the HD598s. More balanced audio then the DT990 full bass/treble. ATH-M50X is a bassy headphone with recessed mids and is considered to not have the best surround sound. Hopefully you disabled the motherboard's on-board audio, in the BIOS, when you installed the Essence ST.
thanks for the reply, i managed to get the sens for $99.99 from amazon for black friday, lucky me! I allways wake up early arround 5.30 am, so it was friday and i said, lets check for them deals at amazon, and well i was at the right time, the deal was up for an hour. I really cant belive i got it for that price, its arround $300 usd and i was gonna get it for 200ish, but at 99.99 i regret not buying 2 lol. Anyways thanks for the input!
I agree with the earlier post saying the M50 is a bit overrated. Either of the other two would be better IMO.
I actually use a pair of Sennheiser Momentum On-ear headphones with my PS4. Even they sound fantastic.
