Hi, I recently got a G1 970 but my 2500k@4.3MHz (on air) bottlenecks my gaming xp. As I've spent 550 Euros for both the GPU and a new PSU (CM 850V) I'm extremely limited of how much I can spent (max 300-350 Euros). Since I've decided to go for 4690K (215 Euros) I need some advice for a good mobo. What I need is to be able to reach good clocks on air and nothing fancy. Also, I want to avoid Gigabyte as hell since my current Z77x UD3H was full of problems no matter the BIOS version. What I was thinking was Asus/AsRock...suggestions?
Any Z97 mobo really, apart from features like extra SATA ports and certain "Gaming" enhancements (Gold plated USB port for that competitive edge!) they're all limited by the chipset. I'm sure you're already aware but since you've got a 4690k make sure you get z97 and not z87 or h97 etc
+1 Best bang for the buck. Specs are worth at least 50-75 USD more than the current selling prices. Just compare it to other competitors.
Thnx for the advice guys! Just a reminder that it's not only a gaming rig but would also oc the 4690K as well. So, I need a mobo to cover for both cases. To be completely honest I made a research, according to max 150 Euros, and came out with the mobo's below: 1. AsRock Extreme 4 2. Asus Z97A (very good recommendations) I read that both are good for oc and found a good comparison at http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/mainstream-gaming-z97-motherboard,review-32948.html What do u think? Insisting on AsRock Extreme 4?
