I'm a big fan of skyrim and got a gaming PC just for it and its mods. However my experience has been a huge let down. After working for 2 months at my schools Maintenance department to buy this PC and I finally get skyrim set up and everythign only to have stuttering? I'm not sure if stuttering is the correct word its hard to describe whats happening but I think that is the best word. It happens with mods like Sjel Blad Castle, and well almost EVERY HOUSE mod that I use. Even when playing base skyrim with just the one mod active everytime I look in the houses direction it stutters. Going into windowed mode helps Alot so I do that. Turning Shadows down helps even more and almost completely gets rid of the problem but I shouldn't have to do that. My PC: i7 4770k 16gb RAM 64gb SSD with skyrim 2 TB HDD for OS and other stuff 750W Corsair PSU EVGA GTX 780 Superclocked Video driver updated with Geforce experience. I shouldn't be having any problems with a house mod on my pc, its really a let down for me and I hope someone can help. I will be willing to do anything to solve this, I've been trying everything I can think of but just can't figure out whats wrong.
Ive done it once before, although I'm willing to do it again, can you tell me which programs you'd recomend for a the best results?
Think so? I'm not so sure, seems like a genuine concerned skyrim fan. http://steamcommunity.com/app/72850/discussions/0/522729358920575719/
I hate Skyrim. How can you be a open-world, graphically intensive game, and use only two cores?! I saw little to no gains going from Athlon64 to Core2Quad. ... And what made you put a game on your SSD and not the OS?
Uploading now, Its like a stuttering/jittering that happens. Its kind of hard to see in the video but I tried my best to record it. It doesn't seem to bad in the video but ingame whens its jittering like that everytime i look at my own house is very frustrating.
yep thats me ^_^ Ive tried many sites to get help. Still no one has been able to help me fix this annoying thing.
I had my OS on the SSD origanlly but it kept getting fuller and fuller even though i tried to redirect all downloads to the HD. So i just gave up the few seconds of Boot time in exchange for a much faster game load time.
Skyrim actually uses more than 2 cores. It was a silly little rumor that got busted by Tomshardware.com at its release. It does not use more than 4 cores.
I feel your pain OP, I experienced tons of stutters with Skyrim. It is the engine primarily, and it took me forever to get it smooth.. I was never fully successful to tell you the truth. Had the same issue with Fallout New Vegas. Was so annoying I never actually played that game since all I did was spent all my time trying to fix the stupid thing. If I remember correctly, I managed to find some special combination of settings in the config files of Skyrim.. I wish I could tell you what I did to get it smooth but I honestly don't remember. I can say though that there is a ton of info out there on this subject as it is definitely a very well known issue that many people experienced. wut?
Ok got the video up, I hope you can see the jittering https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LzCY8RO9aWQ&feature=youtu.be&noredirect=1 EDIT: Ok I dont know why but I just took a look at it on youtube, its almost impossible to tell the stutter. It looked fine before I uploaded it. I will try to get a better video. But in the meantime if you guys have any suggestions that I can try that would be great. EDIT EDIT: Ok I've tried uninstalling my video drivers using driver sweeper in safe mode. Reinstalled in normal mode and still no solution. I just made another video showing the stuttering which I HOPE shows it better. I can see it anyway so I hope this will be enough for you guys to help me figure it out.
wat From Tomshardware bench. I've played the game, and it will not use more than 50% cpu, causing bottleneck. Funny that my fps tripled in bf3 though.
Did you try one optimizer addon tool? It converts certain texture formats to more gpu friendly/faster.. Also lowers its vram usage.. And try to avoid higher 4k texture resolutions and shadow custom distance settings. Also dont use gridlock? any higher then 7 (default 5). skyrimprefs.ini Spoiler [General] fBrightLightColorB=1.0000 fBrightLightColorG=1.0000 fBrightLightColorR=1.0000 iStoryManagerLoggingEvent=-1 bEnableStoryManagerLogging=0 [Imagespace] bDoDepthOfField=1 iRadialBlurLevel=2 [Display] iBlurDeferredShadowMask=6 fInteriorShadowDistance=5000.0000 fShadowDistance=10000.0000 iShadowMapResolutionSecondary=2048 iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=4096 iShadowSplitCount=4 iMaxAnisotropy=16 fLeafAnimDampenDistEnd=4600.0000 fLeafAnimDampenDistStart=3600.0000 fTreesMidLODSwitchDist=100000000.0000 fGamma=1.0000 fDecalLOD2=5000.0000 fDecalLOD1=2500.0000 fSpecularLODStartFade=10000.0000 fShadowLODStartFade=1000.0000 fLightLODStartFade=10000.0000 iTexMipMapMinimum=0 iTexMipMapSkip=0 iWaterMultiSamples=4 iMultiSample=0 iShadowMode=3 bTreesReceiveShadows=1 bDrawLandShadows=1 bFull Screen=1 iSize H=1050 iSize W=1680 fMeshLODFadePercentDefault=1.2000 fMeshLODFadeBoundDefault=256.0000 fMeshLODLevel2FadeTreeDistance=100000000.0000 fMeshLODLevel1FadeTreeDistance=100000000.0000 fMeshLODLevel2FadeDist=100000000.0000 fMeshLODLevel1FadeDist=100000000.0000 iScreenShotIndex=2 bShadowMaskZPrepass=0 bMainZPrepass=0 iMaxSkinDecalsPerFrame=100 iMaxDecalsPerFrame=500 bFloatPointRenderTarget=1 sD3DDevice="AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series" bFXAAEnabled=1 iShadowMapResolution=4096 fShadowBiasScale=0.1000 iShadowMaskQuarter=8 iAdapter=0 iPresentInterval=0 iShadowFilter=3 bTransparencyMultisampling=1 bDrawShadows=1 iActorShadowCountInt=8 iActorShadowCountExt=8 [Grass] b30GrassVS=1 fGrassStartFadeDistance=15000.0000 fGrassMaxStartFadeDistance=15000.0000 fGrassMinStartFadeDistance=0.0000 [MAIN] bGamepadEnable=0 bCrosshairEnabled=1 fHUDOpacity=1.0000 bSaveOnPause=0 bSaveOnTravel=0 bSaveOnWait=0 bSaveOnRest=0 fSkyCellRefFadeDistance=150000.0000 [GamePlay] bShowFloatingQuestMarkers=1 bShowQuestMarkers=1 iDifficulty=4 [Interface] bDialogueSubtitles=1 bGeneralSubtitles=1 bShowCompass=1 [Controls] fGamepadHeadingSensitivity=1.0000 fMouseHeadingSensitivity=0.0125 bAlwaysRunByDefault=1 bInvertYValues=0 bGamePadRumble=1 bMouseAcceleration=0 [Particles] iMaxDesired=5000 [SaveGame] fAutosaveEveryXMins=60.0000 [AudioMenu] fAudioMasterVolume=1.0000 fVal7=1.0000 uID7=0 fVal6=1.0000 uID6=0 fVal5=1.0000 uID5=0 fVal4=1.0000 uID4=0 fVal3=1.0000 uID3=94881 fVal2=0.4000 uID2=466532 fVal1=1.0000 uID1=554685 fVal0=0.8000 uID0=1007612 [Clouds] fCloudLevel2Distance=262144.0000 fCloudLevel1Distance=32768.0000 fCloudLevel0Distance=16384.0000 fCloudNearFadeDistance=9000.0000 [TerrainManager] fTreeLoadDistance=100000000.0000 fBlockMaximumDistance=100000000.0000 fBlockLevel1Distance=200000.0000 fBlockLevel0Distance=100000.0000 fSplitDistanceMult=5.0000 bShowLODInEditor=0 [NavMesh] fObstacleAlpha=0.5000 fCoverSideHighAlpha=0.8000 fCoverSideLowAlpha=0.6500 fEdgeFullAlpha=1.0000 fEdgeHighAlpha=0.7500 fEdgeLowAlpha=0.5000 fTriangleFullAlpha=0.7000 fTriangleHighAlpha=0.3500 fTriangleLowAlpha=0.2000 fLedgeBoxHalfHeight=25.0000 fEdgeDistFromVert=10.0000 fEdgeThickness=10.0000 fPointSize=2.5000 [Trees] bRenderSkinnedTrees=1 uiMaxSkinnedTreesToRender=100 [Decals] uMaxDecals=1000 bDecals=1 bSkinnedDecals=1 uMaxSkinDecals=500 uMaxSkinDecalsPerActor=250 [LOD] fLODFadeOutMultObjects=100.0000 fLODFadeOutMultItems=100.0000 fLODFadeOutMultActors=100.0000 fLODFadeOutMultSkyCell=1.0000 [Launcher] bEnableFileSelection=1 bShowAllResolutions=1 uLastAspectRatio=4 [BlurShaderHDR] bDoHighDynamicRange=1 [BlurShader] bUseBlurShader=0 [Water] iWaterReflectHeight=4096 iWaterReflectWidth=4096 bUseWaterDisplacements=1 bUseWaterRefractions=1 bUseWaterReflections=1 bUseWaterDepth=1 Skyrim.ini looks too big, i'll just upload it here.. SkyrimINI.rar http://www18.zippyshare.com/v/40475790/file.html This was ok on 570GTX and looked great, driver HBAO + driver TrAA - 2x supersample will make the grass even nicer, i had to use lower hbao and no traa back then.. Idk now didnt play it again
I guess its a combination of Skyrim.ini settings that got changed by one of your mods and even when not loading those mods anymore the settings are still screwed. Make a copy of your Ini and delete it. Start Skyrim without any mods and set it to ULTRA. Make a savegame, end the game and make another copy of the original ULTRA ini. Tweak from there until you find a setting looking good and not stuttering. Set the ini to read only and load mods.
Stuttering in Skyrim/Fallout/TES is pretty common, you could try one of the stutter remover mods.....
I assume youve the latest version (aka steam). Instal skse and enboost (you dont even need to use a enb for this to work) You will end up running the game through skse btw. Just google both and you'll find detailed guides on how to install both. Memory optimizations. They will change Skyrims memory blocks to 512/256 (256/256 is default) and improve the way your vram is utilized for the better.
