    His installer script is quite awesome. I've been using it for a long time, those c++ redists are a mess. Every game installs its own version while I've never encoutered a scenario where you couldn't just always use the latest one.

    Some games will use features from a specific version (ie 2005). If you uninstall all other year version and just have 2014 version installed this can cause issues with certain apps and games that will look for a specific version.

    I remember doing this and having issues with COD Black Ops 1, reinstalling the C++ version the game come with solved the issue.

    So now I just use this installer from Burf, and never look back :)

    I mean different versions from the same year. From the same year and the same bit width you only need one version imo. No need for all those game installers to install older versions of the same year all the time >.<

    There's also a remover for the loose vc files in the dropbox. It was made by mbk1969 from these forums. Like how SweetFX works, if the dll is in the game folder it will use that instead. The program allows you 'remove' it by renaming it (with backup function), meaning the game or program will use the one in the system folder instead (the latest ones if using the installer). Is 99 percent safe, only time they're would be issues is if removing antivirus redist files, which you can avoid anyway since each removal is selectable, removing files from a visual studio folder if installed, again can be avoided, or if the game is incredibly badly programmed and hard links the files to the folder (I know of only one instance). It's practically 100 percent safe since each removal is selectable and there is a backup.

      [*]added an extra old runtime file that I accidentally missed out earlier (I've only included the main files)

    Thanks for this! I was using similar Visual C++ installer (made by McRip) but this one made by Burf is better and with newer/updated Visual C++ Runtimes. This one made by Burf only doesn't have:
    Microsoft Visual F Runtime 2.0
    Older Microsoft Runtimes for older software
    ...but they are not so important these days anyway.

    Updated Visual C++ Runtime Installer!
    ------------------------------------------

    Changes:
    • added Visual Studio 2015 preview runtimes (see note below)
    • updated F# 4.40.22129.1 --> 14.0.22214.1
      [*]added support for Visual Studio 2015 removal (and still keeping the Visual Studio 14 removal) for the uninstall process

    Visual Studio 14 was renamed Visual Studio 2015 in the latest prerelease. This may have been done as a result of internal and external feedback suggesting it would be better to remain consistent with the naming. Therefore, the Visual Studio 2015 runtimes aren't separate to the Visual Studio 14 runtimes, as they are just an updated version of a program under a different name. Therefore, a comparison of version numbers can be done. The runtimes were updated from 14.0.22129.1 --> 14.0.22310.1

    Visual C++ Redist Installer V34 - https://db.tt/J48hf7mF

    Due to the load on Dropbox, when new versions are released the downloads may be temporarily suspended. If an error message like that appears, try back later. It's as a result of the downloads going over an allowed download quota of 20 GB/day.

    How about a version that only updates your current C++ installs, instead of adding ones you don't need?
