Noticed today while browsing the forums on my iPad that I seem to be getting adverts popping up at the bottom of the page every time I load a new thread, anyone else getting this? In general I'm all for site/forum owners using advertising for other company's as I understand it generates a huge amount of revenue, but pop ups that you have to physically close are quite frustrating.
That's weird, it looks like an AdChoices advert but I'm fairly sure it should only pop up if you hover over an ad word in the main text. Have you tried a different browser?
I've tried Google Chrome with the same results as Safari, doesn't seem to do it on my phone which uses Android. Thanks Hilbert, the only ads it seems to show is for the Nokia Lumia and SAP if that helps.
Not just me then, I'll try Chrome on my phone, currently using FireFox on my Galaxy S5 and I don't get the adverts with that.
Yeah it's EMC for me as well today, seems to be as soon as you touch the screen to scroll down the forums that it opens up the ads, didn't think it would bother me but it's actually becoming quite annoying to be honest.
Is your phone set to not download certain things over mobile data connection ? iirc there is something in my phone that asks what content you want to allow over data vs wifi
Browser Data savings is one of them on mine under settings > data sense, and under IE settings itself is this
I presume you are using a Windows phone? I don't have an option like that. All websites are fully downloaded regardless of what connection I use.
It might be that the moderators have already resolves the ad sense problem. Presuming it is that. I can test again once I get back home.
