    Hi,

    I need your help.

I bought a asus rog matrix Platinum gtx 780 ti 2 weeks ago.
Now i saw the good Performance of the gtx 980.
So my question : is it worth it to upgrade from the 780 ti too gtx 980?
I bought the asus 780 ti for only 400 Euro. Its a new card.

So what would you say, send the asus back and buy a gtx 980?

    My System :

    Intel 4790k @4,8 GHz
Asus rog matrix Platinum gtx 780 ti
    8 GB DDR 3 RAM
    Win 8.1

    Thank you in advance.
    And sorry my bad english.

If it costs you nothing then send it back, otherwise no keep it. no point in sidegrading to the 980

If you can get rid of it without any $$ loss then do eeeett.

    Otherwise no.

I am asking because some Benchmarks say that the Performance is almost the same. In some Benchmarks the 780 ti oc is even faster.

I could send it back without any loss. I can get my full money back.

The 980 is in all ways better and cheaper.

    Okay, thank you for all.

But i have a last question:

i paid only 400 Euro for the Asus Matrix Platinum 780 Ti.

So i can get the full 400 Euro back, but the GTX 980 cost 520 Euro.

Ist the 120 Euro difference worth it? Or is the performance between these cards too low?

How the hell did you find a 400euro 780ti, those went for 600++++ prior to the 980s release

Well normally you'd be getting a better card for less money, but this changes things, it's up to you tho, all the benchmarks are out there - it's down to what you want to do now, and if you value what you gain from upgrading to a 980 more than 120 euros or not.

What do you mean with getting a better card for less money? Do you mean the 780 Ti is better, because it is cheaper?

I'm saying do you value the gain you get from going with a GTX 980 worth an extra 120euros spent or not. If you do go 980 if not keep the 780ti!

Personally I would keep the 780 Ti Matrix. I myself bought one a month ago and I will sent it back, because I paid 600€ and not around 400€ like you.
The performance you get for your 400€ is between a 970 and 980. A 970 is a little bit weaker than a 780 ti but costs less and a 980 is 10% better but costs more what you paid.

But the 980 overclocks better, runs cooler, draws much less power, has more VRAM, and can be SLI-ed with another 980 in the future with all the benefits mentioned above applying for more than one card now.

    What you can do:

Sent it back -> invest 100€ and buy a 980 or invest 200€ and buy 2x 970 and Sli them. I will probaby buy two 970's because of the awesome scaling and Bang for Buck.
Or keep the 780 Ti Matrix because you paid just 400€, but then you'll miss the new features.

    I understand.
But i just was wondering how good and even better the 780 ti oc perform against a single 980.

I run my card @ 1200 Core Clock and 4000 Memory clock.
It is stable and i never get over 84 grad celsius.

I got a 980 from my good friend for testing.
I benched Battlefield 4 and on the first Level in Baku i get average 131 fps with the asus 780 ti oc.
The same level with the 980 i get average fps 119.
I installed the newest nvidia driver on both cards.
Settings in game on "high", because i want good mininum fps.

Okay, perhaps the drivers in near future will boost the 980 a little bit more, but i am thinking to keep my asus 780 Ti and wait for custom 980 with better oc perfomance.
