The 2 minute trailer looks very impressive. Visually it looks beautiful. Some people are claiming it was running on PC tech, which brings back memories of WatchDogs all over again.
Graphics look lovely. Gameplay looks more like Yakuza thank FF. Not interested until they bring back proper turn based combat. :3eyes: Really hate the way FF has gone
Who decided that live action was better than turn based? At what point did the FF series require this change? It didn't. SquareEnix are trying to be hip with the kids, while putting two fingers up to it's once loyal fan base.
I agree, if I want live action I play Quake or some button masher. FF should be turn based, this live action combat in RPG's really puts me off I can't stand it. I had to stop playing Xenoblade because the awful combat ruined it, pity because I've heard it's got a great story to it. Oh well at least Nihon Falcom haven't gone down that route, thoroughly enjoyed Trails in the Sky First Chapter, eagerly awaiting the next later this year. In the meantime I'm playing Fire Emblem : Path of Radiance on the GameCube, good times!
Official 'gameplay' video. It looks very nice but shows nothing of what the game will be like, but it does show promise. I will be surprised if it looks as good on console.
Nice graphics, but other than that... _do_not_want. uke: Also what's up with these characters? Answers on a postcard please to : Ohdeartheyvedoneitagain
Looks like a Metal Gear Revengence take of the ff series, similar to lightings return, with return being a missing factor in the ff series, as in a return to form not being on the cards anytime soon it seems. What a shame. Hasnt this version been in development longer than Duke Nukem...erm, whats the lastest one called?
This one is called 'Fainaru Fantaji Fifutin'. I am guessing that is a work in process title. The game doesn't look like it will be relased any time soon. I don't even know if it's finished yet. It has been in development since 2006.
Tbh, not really worried either way as i dont have the time or the attention span for rogs anymore, been so long since ive been able to just loose myself in a good rpg.
The demographic is very different to 10 years ago. Turn based combat is rarely seen now. So for me I hardly ever touch rpg's, the combat machinics bore me. I liked the slow pace of the battles, they were very tactical.
pass, FF 13 look very impressive too, and it was easly the worse of all the FF games, I have not like the direction SQE has been taking FF series since X and 13 is where i said no more, till SQE remeber what FF was. They can give me back turnbased battle system FF~X or i will look else where for my RPG fix which what ibeen foing for past 5 years
The last great FF was 9. It had everything you could wish for. The ending even bought a tear to my eye, so powerful was the story and music. FF X bored me. Not sure why but it had nothing to keep me playing. The main characters seems bland, boring even. Everything about that game seemed so average. So the trend continues.
I actually thought this trailer looked awesome and it made me take notice and get me interested in the game. I haven't played an FF game since X on ps2 and Tidus was the worst character I've ever had to run around controlling. Hated that game. I didn't like FF9, it was a typical, and yes, a nod to old FF's but after 7 and 8, it felt like a step back to me. So for me personally, I haven't liked an FF game since 8. I've played the original on nes, 2 and 3 on snes (american numbering) mystic quest on snes, chrono trigger, all that square stuff. FF7 remains my favorite game of all-time, not just favorite rpg. So, me being interested in this trailer shocks me. But I do feel turn based combat has become obsolete. With today's hardware, to just have a turn-based fight just isn't fitting. Square seems to be trying to keep up with the times just as they did in previous generations. I hated everything they did on ps2 and ps3, but I'm really interested in this. And man...looks gorgeous.
Turn based Obsolete? I disagree. They've gone from tactical turn-based strategy gameplay to action slasher. This has more in common with DevilMayCry than FF.
Soon as I saw the battles with the wildlife it looked like Monster Hunter. It has no tactical elements that I can see. Just simple hack and slash. Not something to even be give the name of such a famous series. But time will tell I guess. Nice graphics, but shows little else so far.
