S.T.A.L.K.E.R Lost Alpha is a standalone mod for the 2003 hit game S.T.A.L.K.E.R, and it's completely free and doesn't require the base game to play. Lost Alpha restores all the content cut from first-person shooter survival game S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl and redesigns all these levels also adding new content to bring in a full-fledged game. S.T.A.L.K.E.R Lost Alpha retraces back to the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R games in a post apocalyptic atmosphere. The game is a sandbox first person survival shooter with light RPG elements. The story takes place in a place called "The Zone" which is like hell on earth where strange and deadly anomalies dot the land. The people who enter THE ZONE illegally are called S.T.A.L.K.E.R.S (short for Scavengers, Trespassers, Adventurers, Loners, Killers, Explorers, Robbers). There are many other factions within the game, like the Military, Bandits, Duty, Freedom, Mercenaries etc. The effort that has been made into making the game, attention to detail, the atmosphere, diverse game worlds, hidden secrets, creepy locations, amazing set-pieces, and high production values makes it a must-play game. If S.T.A.L.K.E.R was great, Lost Alpha is amazing, considering that it is totally free YouTube Video Featuring S.T.A.L.K.E.R Gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Db8xFst8Yk8 Direct Download: http://www.moddb.com/mods/lost-alpha - Part 1: http://www.moddb.com/mods/lost-alpha/downloads/stalker-lost-alpha-v13000-part-1 - Part 2: http://www.moddb.com/mods/lost-alpha/downloads/stalker-lost-alpha-v13000-part-2 - Part 3: http://www.moddb.com/mods/lost-alpha/downloads/stalker-lost-alpha-v13000-part-3 - Part 4: http://www.moddb.com/mods/lost-alpha/downloads/stalker-lost-alpha-v13000-part-4 Latest Patch: http://www.moddb.com/mods/lost-alpha/downloads
am i the only who thinks that the engine is dated, this game needs an engine overhaul, probably metro last light graphics and animations, to me this game is past it now i suppose.
the gameplay is what makes a game, being pretty helps... If its fun to play then that is all that matters. Only thing holding older games back is the vast number of (pretty) games available today and that more of them seem to be getting enough right thankfully. - that and our time to play them all Those unplayed Steam games are mounting up lol
As old as xray is, it still does many things better (aesthetically at the very least if not technically) than some of the newer engines out now. It feels very lived-in to me, and the A-life, though still a far cry from what was promised in the early promotions of the game, keeps things interesting. The ballistics feel good too. In comparison, Crytek engine games, with all of their bells and whistles, feel very sterile in comparison. You walk through a level and you can imagine the devs saying "we want people to say ooohh here and ahhh there, but in the end it all feels like a tech demo.
I cannot get the game to start. Downloaded all four and patch, installed correctly but will not open when using the exec. I get a window saying "Cannot open file "fsgame.ltx" Check your working folder"
Right click shortcut and check the folder (not the actual path to the exe). If I remember correctly it should be where the fsgame.ltx is located?
