340.76 Up on Windows Update 780 GTX, Win 8.1. Can't see it on Nvidia site yet GeForce 340.76 - [OG340_52-5]
I assumed it was different from the already posted beta since Windows Update only just decided to push it...
Kind of strange that Microsoft would push out a Developer driver? Was it WHQL'd? So far, every Microsoft driver they have released has been stable, on my rig anyway. Not that I use them personally, just test them is all. I wounder if this is a different driver than the developer driver.
Interesting it's the same exact dev driver. http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=392328 Post #19 shows the exact same branch number.
I guess... ManuelG said they usually release mon / tue to be able to give support for the new drivers. New cards coming @ friday. It must be today
nah... probably friday we go see leaked driver from cd only for new series and needing modding the inf to install
I believe you have set Geforce Experience to verify and update beta drivers, just like this: I'm sorry it's in Portuguese, but I think the screen is the same, only in a different language!
I am currently having to use the v337.88 drivers because of constant crashing in Dead Rising 3 with any v340.xx driver but I do have an optional driver in Windows Update which only states it is from July (as per usual, Microsoft neglect to include any specific driver details or version numbers). I suspect it may be the v340.43 driver as I found it had "accidentally" installed itself without my knowledge when I first reinstalled the older v337.88 driver and rebooted. I only realised this when Dead Rising 3 started crashing again! This has not happened since reinstalling v337.88 again though.
Hey, look I'm just tellin ya the truth bud. You can view the thread yourself with the link I provided. Strange yeah, but maybe Microsoft did it in turn of no drivers from Nvidia for a while. If they tested them and they pass everything MS demands, that is all that matters to them. Not game optimizations.
In my experience the 337.88 WHQL is a very solid driver build. It contains the new CPU optimizations, and is far less problematic than the 340.xx driver series. If it ain't broke Personally I don't get why people are so eager to install the latest untested/unofficial BETA drivers all the time. And you can of course always just use NVIDIA Inspector and the GeForce 3D Profile Manager to create and modify your own custom profiles with an older driver, like detailed in my new NVIDIA compatibility bits thread: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?p=4908843#post4908843 Dead Rising 3 is a mess right now, no matter which driver you are using. It doesn't even support proper AFR SLI scaling without flickering or slowdown issues This game needs to be put back in the oven again before its done (together with Risen 3 for that matter). Something like this is one of the main reasons, I turned automatic Windows updates off a LONG time ago. And installing new display or sound card drivers through Windows update is a big no no IMO, since you don't know exactly what is being installed. For the last 3 years, I have been going carefully through each Windows update before installing it. I simply don't trust Microsoft and their automatic updating anymore.
Ive been using v337.88 drivers for dead rising but still crashing from time to time anything from 10mins to 1hr its completely random , i think that i might give these a go . Will i have to uninstall my drivers then run windows update i suppose ? All i want is to play Dead Rising without the crashing . I have sli disabled .
QFT, there wont be a 343.xx driver until NGreedia release the new cards. And even then, no doubt it will be insultingly packaged for the new cards (I know it's just a simple 'inf fix' but nevertheless).
