Hey Gurus I have a habit of filming friend's bands when I go to seem them live and I was wandering if there's any decent open source software out there to chop the full videos into managable chunks for YouTube. Preferably need to be able to convert to Youtube's best format (whatever that is). Running Win7 (64 bit). Suggestions welcome. Cheers BLEH!
Windows Movie Maker comes pre-installed (usually) and it has basic video editing features. I've been using AppGeeker Video Editor and I can say that it's an intuitive and powerful tool. However, it's a shareware.
Blender does have an pretty good video editor thing.. also i use avidemux and such.-.. but im also trying blender now. since it looks pretty nice.. The video is a short tutorial on how to use / get to the Video editor.. http://youtu.be/yjTn8GsRk48 edit: theres also Lightworks, but its hmm, a free version with limitations.. http://www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=102&Itemid=213 -- on further investigation i would suggest to start with blender...it also got HQ 1080p / 60fps and more. so all nice and clean..
