*How do I start using OpenGL 4.5 in my code base?

The default OpenGL context provides OpenGL 4.5 on supported hardware. In addition, the application can use a specific version of OpenGL by calling CreateContextAttribsARB (for WGL and GLX defined in the WGL/GLX_ARB_create_context extensions). For OpenGL 3.2, and later versions including OpenGL 4.5, you can additionally specify what profile you want the OpenGL context to support. Either the "Core" or the "Compatibility" profile.

more info about OpenGL 4.5 can be found here: http://www.opengl.org/registry/

Installed on my 860m laptop without a hitch, hopefully it fixes the Shield streaming issue, I haven't been able to stream with any 340.xx driver on either my desktop or laptop.

Imo its enough that its a completely different r340 branch.

These extra openGL commands are just a bonus., also all those register/memory tricks can affect driver as a whole and speedup or remove any leaks in general, I've seen it in the past with one OpenGL driver.
I had stabler fps in general and a little lower vram usage.

Anyway I have them installed now, tested only 3dmark Firestrike test and I could pass at 1 steep higher boost

Older r340_00 would fail anything higher then 1228mhz by 2nd gpu test - towards the end., now its fine at 1240mhz, also scored higher gpu score - obviously

I agree with -tj-

drivers with updated opengl will sometimes give improvements with current opengl titles.

but also sometimes cause problems like what happened to AMD drivers

but I hardly had any problem with opengl with nvidia.

cpu is at 4.6ghz, at 4.7ghz I get ~ 13500 points by cpu and that raises the score a bit.

Thanks man, hell yeah, the points are awesome, that means a gtx880 will be even more great
Ok so u get 10.400, and a 780 Ti with the same CPU, can get ??

Now waiting for 880 launch, MY BODY IS READY

PS: I just wanted to test my 680 against a 780 in fire strike, at least on the points side, to make an idea, of how diff. is there, and how it will be from 680 to a 880.

The same at ~980mhz base clock & i7 4930K @ 4.5ghz? with a little higher cpu score this made higher total score, so i guess ~ 1ghz.. mine was 1071mhz there.
*check guru3d 3dmark 2013 last page and you will see what i mean

Judging by that 870GTX (13smx) 3dmark 2011 leak, I wouldn't have any high hopes.. Its slower then stock 780GTX.

Full GM204 is either 14 or 15smx, so something between 780GTX & 780Ti at lower reso and lower AA.

Probl, on gamescom we will see something. I dont believe in leaks. Could be a marketing suicide if they release an 880, between 2 cards, or slower than 780Ti.

Im buying something, and if maxwell is around the corner, i will grab that one, even it will be like a 780Ti, doesnt worth to invest in a Kepler, again, i already have one.
