After the warranty fiasco with my sabertooth 990fx and this board looking damn fine I may be doing the same. My only wish for it would be dual gigabit lan and then I couldn't think of anymore features I would want. Maybe a non wifi version with 2x giga ports?

Try X58 + 2 NF 200 chips

130W CPU (OCed, but undervolted)
30 W Chipset
20 W x 2 for the NF200s.

We've come a long way since then, esepecially when you consider SB-E effectively moved 25W worth of uncore onto the CPU AND is 15% faster clock-for-clock.

Damn MSI really out did themselves with this board. Too bad that LGA 2011 or x79/x99 is out of my price range.

though I have to warn you , MSI seems to have some bad reputation with problem , but here in my shop we did dozens build with MSI non failed so far , or no client has reported a problem.

Asus client support indeed is really getting bad , last time I contacted them they provided nothing .....the only thing I would stay from Asus is their tablet + headphone

I've had very little trouble with MSI's products and when I did their warranty process was excellent.

I can attest to having several extremely bad experiences with ASUS where warranties are concerned.

No, you need an X99 board and DDR4 for Haswell-E

I would always go with Asus over MSI, more variety and support for custom water blocks.

I'd still try an ASUS for my next mainboard due to (hopefully) true pwm chassis fan headers and fan xpert
I like the design of their gaming mainboards better than those of the cards. Yet again, I don't look at the computer's components during gaming, because I've bought a case without a window due to sound dampening reasons.

That's fair enough but warranty (especially getting a fast replacement) is very important to me and I have had major problems with ASUS in that regard.

On top of that I'll never be LCing so that's not an issue for me but it is a fair point if you do.
