Deep Silver has announced. that it has acquired the Homefront property from Crytek, including the recently-announced Homefront: The Revolution. Notably, this studio is located in Nottingham, England, the same city Crytek UK is based out of--suggesting former Crytek UK staffers will continue to work on the game, but for a new company. http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/deep-silver-acquires-homefront-from-crytek.html
Cool but if it faces problems again for whatever reason then it is the next Skullgirls in terms of being jinxed
Que in the age old 2002 Iraqi "Nothing to see here folks" meme as far as Crytek being in financial trouble.
I dont think it was that boring. Wasnt explosive exciting but personally had more character and life in the game then the COD games. COD4 was the last one I really enjoyed of COD. But Im also not too critical of games. What someone may think that sucks I usually like. Im not too picky.
This is good news for Crytek employee's. At least now they wont have to worry about not getting their paychecks.
All this Crytek doom and gloom, if you read the articles, is about just the team associated with this game. Where in any of the articles does it mention that any employees from the other studios were not getting paid? All those non-payment rumors can be chalked up to disgruntled employees seeing that the project they were working on was getting axed. So of course they were going to be jumping ship. As the statement from Crytek the other day stated all the other studios were going to be business as usual. The only two studios affected were Nottingham, UK and Austin,TX US. Deep Silver picked up the UK studio and the employees associated with the Austin studio were offered to apply for opportunities in Germany. Restructuring is restructuring. At least the game will see the light of day.
...it's taken one company, and still is one company, by all technicalities, so i'm unsure as where you somehow thought this up
THQ spent more money marketing Homefront 1 than they gained from sales, it was one of the reason why THQ went bankrupt.
hehe if we kickstarter-bought Crytek, I'd fire their management, quit my job, and do it myself. Couldn't do worse than to be bought by somebody else again, could I
It was very generic story.. Imo it failed as overall + crappy U3E streaming. btw Who said anything about Cod, that is kinda boring too most of the time ;D Or maybe Im bored of everything now and all this rushed crap.. I just want to see some proper next-gen games, I really have enough of this 8year old milking bs atm
