remember this 2009 game, remember when THQ used to gives us gd games. it had fantastic physics engine. have your say about this game.
It was a fantastically fun game. Still is. There was one mission where you had to rescue people from an enemy base. Rather than shooting my way in, I grabbed a garbage truck and drove it through a bunch of buildings in to the base. A few collapsed behind/on my truck. It was glorious. Then they made Armageddon and squandered all of their good will by confining gameplay to claustrophobia inducing caves. The magnet gun had SO much potential for a big, open world environment.
One of my favorite games PERIOD. Was just plain excellent. The atmosphere, the misisons, the physics. All top grade. The light walker was such a joy. Jump jet to the tops of buildings, then pile drive all the way through em.
Couldn't agree more. Awesome game. Shame about the ****ty sequel as they really had the foundations in place to do something incredible.
I honestly liked Armageddon as a game, but you had to basically forget about the open world of the previous one to appreciate it. The plot was cool, and the environments were well done just the same as the first game in terms of atmosphere and creepiness. Weapons were also cool too. It just can't match Guerrilla. The original was great too. The atmosphere blew my dick off back in the day.
I'm going to be contrary. I didn't really like Guerilla - I completed it but it never really 'clicked'. Armageddon on the other hand I loved, even if the ending was bloody stupid (why didn't you just do that in the first place?!).
I used to spend hours with the nano-rifle, shooting key parts of large structures to trigger a collapse was great fun. I loved that mission where you had to kill a bunch of enemy commanders who were meeting in a large tower like structure. Making it collapse on them while they were inside, from a hill at distance was one of the best gaming moments ever for me.
Minus the destruction, which is the real highlight of the game/franchise, I would say it was above average. The open world aspect seemed kinda gimped, but the game really didn't have any faults. Its definitely worth picking up.
It's a flawed game in terms of missions - they can get repetitve - but despite that I really enjoyed it. I still have the game installed and, of course, it runs much better now than it did at launch. The way you can destroy just about everything man-made certainly adds to the fun even if it does give the impression at times that everything is made of cardboard!
