Ubisoft has released a new patch for the PC version of Watch_Dogs that addresses the stuttering that most PC gamers encountered while using "High" textures, and optimizes the game's per... Watch_Dogs - New Official Patch
As I suspected, a 14MB patch was not going to be a panacea for WD's problems. I wonder, are Ubisoft 'avin a laff? Maybe this fixed some issues for people, but my stuttering's just as bad as it's ever been. I'm done with this game.
This game is unplayable even with this new patch. I've tried the Worse Mod with/without Maldo Texures and it still stutters/hangs way too much. I've even tried completely rebuilding my PC (Win8.1 x64) and the stutters still persist *Edit. Just to add it stutters on any settings. Even if vram usage is only using say 2GB out of 3GB available and I have it running from SSD.
I'm now at ultra max everything with the worse mod and its silky smooth. Shame i've already beaten the game and won't be playing it again :/
+1 I m done with ubisoft , I never buy a game from them :/ even with this new patch I ve stutter on high or ultra (tested on GTX 780 and R9 290X....) I m done with this game
And they wonder why there´s piracy. Do you imagine someone that spends 500$+ for a graphic card only cause of some new game and finds out it´s a total mess? I was about to buy me a 780ti/R9 290x only for Watch Dogs. I´m glad i didn´t and you can bash me as much as you want, but i torrented that ****, thank God.
I've had the game running perfect on both my GTX 680 and new GTX 780 Ti. I've run the game off my main SSD as well as my secondary raid-0 array of old 150gb Raptors. and I always have the page file on the raptors, never the SSD. When reinstalling your OS, did you run windows update first thing? Or did you do what I always do which is always run the motherboards driver pack directly off the disk that came with it. This ensures all the components get the correct driver as a start point. I've had on a few occasions Windows uPdate install the incorrect drivers for an "unknown device" and that always is a hassle.
Weird, I haven't had any stuttering with or without the worse mod. Also if I install this patch, do I need to backup the worse mod?
Watch dogs runs quite well considering im running 4680x1024 on a single HD 7950. Running The worse mod final with maldo textures. No stutters. All high settings and still pull 40 fps avg. Now when I have vanilla game and 2x HD 7850s in crossfire it was a mess. Single or dual cards.
I bet your a total a$$hole online only arent you. No need for that kinda of crap around here. He does have a point. To spend a ton of money on a whole rig, or even just a $500 gpu to play a game that is a mess is a shame. Now that doesnt justify piracy in any way, and I wouldnt advocate to pirate it either. Boycotting and not buying is a much better solution IMHO.
I'm going without games right now cause I can't afford, then I gotta read crap like that when I know too it ain't good for the site neither. no need for piracy talk on guru3d, which just gave away a titan.
I usually download the latest NIC Driver and put it onto a USB stick ready, then install windows, install the NIC driver, install all latest motherboard/graphics drivers and then do windows updates.
You must be 12 for using that "noob" word. I crap on your MP games, i don't have time for this, i have a work and a family and lil bit of a life.
For me personally, the latest patch has made a huge difference in performance. Running with every single in game setting maxed I was getting these major stuttering and freezes while walking and driving was pretty much impossible prior to the patch. After the patch, there is just barely discernible stuttering while driving. If I had to make a comparison, I'd say it's not quite as bad as Fallout 3. :eyes: I'm not using any sort of mods or patches other than the official ones for the game.
