Sleeping dogs has been "HD" since 2012 on PC w/ the free DLC.. Unless they are upgrading the textures again.

While that's understandable styckx an Xbox One and PS4 version might be something many are interested in still in the same way GTA V owners are buying into GTA V HD. Really depends on just how much work has been put into these new versions across all three platforms man.

Remains to be seen. I think Sleeping Dogs is actually the best "Total Package" Open world game going. Now I haven't played GTA V yet I waited it out. We'll see if GTA V lives up to the hype but Sleeping Dogs was near perfectly executed in my books. Full singing and dancing DX11 title, HD pack on and ran like a dream and looked fantastic doing it

We've got Watch_Dogs on one side and GTA V on the other. This game's about the get seriously smashed between those two if this is real.

And there's going to be a PC version? Seriously? What's it going to be called, Sleeping Dogs The RE-HD Edition? I played that game on max settings at 1080p, what else could they offer?

I know it sounds absurd to think there's an improved PC version in the works that can actually outdo SD PC with 1080p + HD Texture pack et al but think about it for a moment, Triad Wars is still in development too and Squeenix said they would show it to the public for the first time this year.

So yeah I'm thinking maybe SD with an improved engine that has tech from TW implemented into it perhaps to really help sell the sequel. Seeing as though they didn't show anything at E3 this year what better way is there to promote it?

Or maybe I'm just talking ****.

Well to be honest this looks dated, especially lighting. A gfx makeover would be good

Imo only interior looks ok

Pointless PC release if it is just the same game.

If it is just release the game on PS4 and XB1 with the PC HD textures from before.

Then release a new PC HD DLC that adds even more textures or even better ones, and maybe improves lighting, adds more bloom, maybe something like an ENB.

Heck they could even charge 5 for it and it would be pretty reasonable.

This unless this version uses a brand new engine.

If they added more to do in the free roam area like gangs to fight off or something, I'd take a look.

I can see this trend of re-releasing old games carrying on for a while yet with the lack of new games for the consoles plus all the delayed stuff.
Mostly irrelevant to PC peoples thou, hasn't this been in the Steam sale for like 3 or 4 times already ?

vs newer stuff or in general, it has this flat lighting - especially screenshot no2 & no3, btw that is maxed gfx settings, SSAA-2x.

Now I really wonder what will this HD remake look like

Well... of course it looks bated when compared to newer stuff. That stuff... is newer.

Sleeping Dogs still looks great, and I see no point in trying to update it.

I was about to go on a tangent there for a moment until i thought about your post. The art direction is what make SD look so good, its not actually using any fancy lighting like GTA or WD and even SR, its really just dark with neon lights, HD textures and simple AO/shadows. SweetFX actually made this more apparent so i gave up trying to tweak it as all it did was flare the colors and anything that lifted the gamma made it even more obvious since there really is no special type of lighting being used.

Though i probably wont be buying this. Im quite happy to pay for console games that get the HD remake as the majority of them should have been experienced in the 1080 60fps format right from the start or games from the xbox/ps2 days as the transition is just so large, but to go and release these PC games but with high rez textures and all the dlc that pc gamers have already invested in with season passes is just plain insulting and as such, ill be skipping the Metro Redux.

Maybe they'll throw in all the DLCs? It would still make the PC version over-priced though.

Yeah,

I was just watching this benchmark 2-3 days ago and I said to myself this would sure look nice in HD remake with a bit higher gfx fidelity, not so empty lookin.. Then I saw this thread yesterday
