Hi guys.
On March 14, 2014 ASUS announced new sound cards Essence II series.
http://www.legitreviews.com/asus-ess...aunched_137551

My question is. How long does it usually take for the product to hit the market after it was introduced to the press?
I am waiting for this card to be available finally but it is April 30th already and I still cannot get any info.
I tried to google but I could not find anything about pricing and availability. Maybe some of you guys have some information.

Thanks in advance.

Found one place that is selling the Essence STX II for $246.
Retailers might be holding off buying the newer STX II until they sell off there current stock of STX's
You might be better off saving a few dollars
and getting a used Essence STX off eBay ($130-$140).

Can no longer find the listing for the Essence STX II.
I'm guessing the retailer starting advertising earlier then they were allowed to and maybe Asus had them take it down.

"Guessing" Asus might have a backstock of Essence STXs in a warehouse somewhere in North America and they might try to clear those out before launching the Essence STX II in North America.

One needs to look real close at the old and the so called new. Asus is still using old not new. For me drivers make or brake a card and ASUS.. well you know. They are one of the worst at keeping up. This like the last are not worth the price. If you must still try it make sure where ever you buy you can return for full money back.

I have to say that my STX has been excellent for me and I've not really felt the need for more driver updates - especially compared to my old creative cards.
I'm looking forward to seeing what the STX ii can do although I doubt I'll get one as I can't see that it would make a significant difference vs. My STX

the only different is the H6 pins are on the STX 2, instead of just being on the ST and any other changes are minor besides them using cheaper muse op-amp's and not the actual muse 01 or 02 op-amps.

with this stx 2 or the stx 1 can the audio inputs on the motherboard still be used? I want to get this card, but between my head set (the mic input) and my record player I need a second audio in.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-lis...&condition=new

just bought one,will report back
little on the expensive side although I'll sell my ZXR to offset the difference
180.91 GBP shipped(5-10)
add 10 GBP for 2-4

I ended up paying $303.00 with 2-4 shipping
so that means that with standard shipping it was ~$285.00

Congrats man.
Let us know how it is.
Still not a word here about availability in Noth America. I guess I have to wait a little longer.
Buying from UK will be too much money for me. Shipment plus I will have to pay customs.

Awesome. Really exited about the review.
Have a question though. Since you already have one and I assume you are in touch with people from Asus. Can you give us a hint when it is going to be available worldwide by any chance.

Thanks in advance.

I have no idea and they generally keep such things close to home.
As for it not being sold in NA, I find that hard to believe considering the size of the market. That being said, sometimes they test market in certain regions and expand into others. If you want one you can always get one even if not sold locally.

To note, I am about 200 miles from ya!
