I don't remember this ever happening with previous drivers. When the scene transitions from 17 to 18, there is a momentary freeze and then my fps tanks to single digits. Once scene 18 resumes, all is well. All the other scene transitions are normal. I've ran 10 loops and out of those 10, it happened 7 times. Can I get some other people to verify if it's happening on their rigs too.

    Thanks.

PS: This is happening while at stock and overclocked. Also, I am using a SSD.

PPS. inb4 "Y U NO post is driver thread"? Because this needed its own thread.

    are you on x2 770s or x2 680s?

may want to look at FCAT readings from one of Hilberts reviews.

Might have something to do with the new shader cache option.

This is a beta driver, but if it happens where I think it does, then I have seen it before with other drivers as well. Not just this one.
It doesn't stop, but gets jerky for a split second, around the time where it enters the dark corridor.

Maybe it's a bug in the benchmark or it could be driver related. Only unigine / nVidia knows.

Yes. That's exactly where it's happening. But I don't remember it ever happening with the other drivers. Goes to show how much I pay attention.

On my rig hitching in Heaven 4 happens with all drivers at the same place. I don`t remember whether it is between 17 and 18.

That's the start of scene 18

If I will remember I will look (at home). In benchmark mode or in both modes?

I had that issue with a previous driver (can't remember which one) but not with the current 337.50, which is odd because I thought it was a Heaven issue. I do get jerking although the FPS remain stable when the scene is going over the edge of the corridors/courtyard to overlook the floating island part (scene 19). Not sure if that helps.

    Try this,
lower frames to render ahead max 1 or 2,
force threaded optimization - on (or off),
    set prefer max. performance,
and maybe experiment with dynamic tilling (on/off)

Also too high vram OC can cause it as well.

    Confirmed: exactly at that scene/place.

just checked again which part and I kinda had an idea it was this...
Although mine doesnt drop to single digits, stayed at normal fps just a few streaming hickups there

btw this part is driver depended, some have it more then others. I had a few that had none.

Try those tweaks I suggested though, might mild or eliminate completely..

I just replaced 670 with 780, and the hickup is still there (though without FPS decrease).

    Just tried
Frames to render ahead : 2
    Threaded optimization to : ON

and now it doesn't even twitch or do anything weird, it just runs smoothly past the choke point .... hmmmmmm.

    Why is that ?

(But thanks for the heads up :) )
