Hello, I have been using MSI afterburner to record a game of mine, (Battlefield 2) but when I go to watch the video, it has no sound. But other games have sound.. So is it the game.. Or am I doing something wrong? Thank you.

    Audio capture settings:

    Enabled = 1
Downmix multichannel audio to stereo = 0

Audio Source Type = WASAPI playback device

Audio Source = Headphones (Realtek High Definition Audio) (Which is currently the only audio source i use.)

    WASAPI playback device = Playback.
    WASAPI capture device = Record.

    Or try DirectSound capture device.

    btw, bf2 uses EAX.

Do I need a later version of afterburner? The one I have now is 2.2.5.
I also tried using DirectSound Capture Device. That didn't work either.

    Thank you for your time.

Hmm.. It still doesn't work. I don't have the choice of Creative SB X-FI either.. (In playback device selection.)
    Any ideas?

    Hi,

I have the opposite problem. I can record sound off the game but it also includes sounds from Mumble conversations. Is there a way of recording only the game sound without any other sound source?

Yes. I don't think it is worth going out and buying a sound card just to record audio off of one game... I hoped that there was another way.

Even if you actually use headphones, the name of the output may be different (like "Speakers"). Try setting different outputs in MSI Afterburner. (The most probable one is the output that's designated the default output in Windows sound properties, because that's where games usually output their audio. Unless you've selected another output in-game.)

What application are you using for viewing the file? Have you tried any other programs?

I've tried every choice in the playback device category, I didn't get anything.
I know that at least two other games have audio with it.

What application am I using for what file? The game?

    Thanks for your time.

I meant what video player are you using to view that video file?

(When writing the original question I had a blackout and couldn't come up with the term "video player", so used "application". :p )
