Nvidia today released their new 337.50 Beta driver. The drivers enhance DirectX in such a manner that they free up CPU overhead. There are a lot of questions and I like to address some of them. First...

Seems like a marginal improvement in most titles, but GOOD LORD those Hitman and Crysis 3 increases!

Any chance of getting benchmarks of a single card? :)

My jaw dropped when I saw the increase in performance in Hitman Absolution

Edit: my ghetto 660 Ti SLI setup is definitely affected, this is Ultra settings with FXAA btw.

I sadly forgot to do the benchmark before installing the driver but I remember my min. fps being around 45~50 and my average has never been higher than 65, insane performance boost.

Any chance of a mid CPU vs high CPU tests

Just installed Hitman absolution and today this driver. I am getting really lucky.

BTW the driver is now available on the Geforce website.
not sure why it is of a lesser size

I second the marginal increase for the most part. Good for hitman, though.

10-20 fps for the most part with sli, thats huge and not marginal for high end cpu at 4625mhz.

Yeah I mean WHCtech or whatever that site is called reports 27% increase in BF4 on 780Ti (Ultra @ 1080p). That's pretty impressive for a driver and hardly "marginal". I think its pretty obvious though that Nvidia optimized all the titles that AMD was quicker in. Hopefully they will go through and do more in future releases.

Can't wait to test these with 780ti sli myself. Looking for minimum frame increase avg and max I don't care about

I'm curious if these drivers will do some of that "magic" on my old 2x680s Lightnings, cpu is at 4.2 atm (it can go stable 4.8 but I cba with the power bill and heat in summer) especially since I game at 2560x1440. I will probably wait for the WHQL though.

I'll take that "marginal" increase. Good stuff. 780ti sli should be similar.

    Well i am impressed.
Great gains without needing a new API.

I have a HD 7850 i was so happy when AMD announced mantle and now even more happy with the standart DX12.

But i am no fanboy and i would preffer AMD to optimize DX11 like Nvidia done instead of creating a exclusive API.

    Good job Nvidia..

It will be interesting to see what will AMD do after this update from Nvidia. I doubt, that they can not accomplish something similar.

They probably can but it's far more difficult on their architecture. They have a very wide pipeline they have to fill to execute at high efficiency. Nvidia has far more room to maneuver data and optimize it before it hits their pipe.

Plus I would like to think AMD spent some time considering optimization of their current system before moving to Mantle, which requires a lot more work.
