We'll soon find out if it's fact or fiction
Excavation of reported burial site given the go-ahead; documentary chronicling the effort will be exclusive to Xbox when it launches this year.

Shame it's on XBox as I don't have one now but I'm sure it will appear sometime, somewhere.

If any one finds the video at some point could they add it to this thread. I will also keep a look out. I know it's made yet

Yes they did, i remember it at the time closely followed by the infamous video game crash. The game was bad even for an Atari 2600 game at the time.
Good games on the 2600 that spring to mind was Empire strikes backs, Combat, Pitfall, River raid etc.

There was a video on youtube a few years back of a few guys who went to new mexico and dug up a few copies ... apparently they're only a few feet under the surface.

Apparently most of the cartridges still work with a good cleaning.

Here is the question that I have about those Cartridges. I wonder if any of those cartridges still work after being underground for 30+ years.

A lot of them were melted or crushed, but ones buried deeper were in fine shape. So yes, some of them still work.

I'd be amazed if they didn't sell some of them for novelty.
