I think personally this would be a great move by Ubisoft as we've been given the chance to revisit the lush tropical island template design that FarCry was always synonymous with more than enough now. FarCry 2 took us in an entirely different direction to the first so my guess is that FarCry 4 will closely follow suit. The possible return of monster type enemies makes me buzz a little too. Trigens rocked.

I actually think that could turn out to be a very needed shift away from the tropics, which has dominated all recent ubisoft games.
And Himalayas... what better place for an ultimate survival game!

I wish there wasnt just one setting. it would be nice to travel all over the world like in the uncharted games

Ehm, that wouldnt Work with what far cry has been about at all...

All previous 3 games has been = you get trapped at some location, and have to escape. How would you mix that with going to different locations in the World? That wouldnt Work at all...

If the game focuses more on realistic game control, a realistic story/events and gets rid of all the automated cut scenes and other crap I might give it a try. I could care less where it takes place or how awesome the graphics are.

Africa probably won't happen but it would have been nice if they had polished and enhanced FC2 instead of releasing a tropical trip to Disneyworld as they did with FC3. But I understand they have to keep the kiddies hooked and mesmerized.

    Yeah...I admit it. I hate FC3. LOL

FC4 in a snowy and mountainous terrain? Sign me up please. I don't think I've ever played a game in the Himalayan Mountains, so that sounds cool too. Probably some mystical quest involving bald Buhdist Monks in their orange robes rescuing the protagonist from an avalanche or something. If I get to ride a Yak I'll be happy. :bounce:

    Sounds awesome. :)
I love the FarCry series, with the exception of FarCry 2... game looks great, but just wasn't fun.

The first and third games are beyond awesome.
And trading up sunny beaches for snowy mountains sounds like a great idea.

Thank you so much for the link, my life is now complete. Ubisoft should take a page out of dressupgames's book on how to create a great interactive game. I just recreated my childhood cat!:banana::banana:

I love snow and mountains, I wish more FPS games would go for that settings (RPGs too)... the Alborz Mountains map in BF3 is a great example, I could imagine a sandbox FC4 in such a setting. Hope this turns out to be true. :p

maybe you dont like the idea, but it sounds good to me.
i loved uncharted games and they also had a feeling you had to escape so sounds pretty good to me. maybe you dont like several locations but i would love to see them.

Its in the name Far Cry - stuck and can't get out of there.. Traveling to other places would defeat the purpose of the game, even if it sounds cool :p

You all saw what happened with FC2 when they tried to move the Tropical Island theme to something else...

Who knows though, maybe people got sick of green.
