That's a LOT of SATA/SAS ports. I though my board was bad with 14 (from what the X79 chipset shoulda been, C606), but that's just insane.

might be nice for play BF4
    lol

more seriously i like the extreme 11 line because of the SAS controler :) with it you can make real RAID, far more powerfull than the chipset one.

First, software raid is better than hardware raid. second i only see one way so many hdds may be needed, its for some record or very fast boot.

This would've been a million times funnier if it had floppy and IDE too.

That's some wishful thinking. The internet is like 80% porn in total. Pretty sure the amount is in exabyte territory by now.

Im using server mobo with integrated LSI SAS chip in jbod mode with software raid now for my anime collection. It is the best raid type as of this day, preventing silent data damage and similar. In short, it prevents most of problems assuming you use server memory. Hardware raid is far behind. CERN data corruption research for your consideration: http://storagemojo.com/2007/09/19/cerns-data-corruption-research/

I think companies should start announcing compatible cases with the thing that looks like a "motheboard"... :D

Yeah, the CaseLabs MAGNUM TX10 looks like a candidate. Also possibly a 12U or 24U Server rack. :D
