I am going to hold off to see if MSI is going to do a 780TI lightning (extreme?). I'll buy one. I think this will be a worthy upgrade to my 580 lightning SLI setup. I'm also a sucker for the refreshes. This buy will get me through Maxwell initial release and on to the Max refreshes. My 580's are still beasting through BF4, but Rome II benchmark slaughters my cards.
SO, one card now, then when Asus releases the 2560x1600 G-sync monitor I will purchase that. After that, the next month I get three paychecks I may SLI up!

I would really love to get one,

but unfortunately my plans for upgrading went down the drain along with my GTX 480.It died on me on the worst possible time.
I was saving up some more $$ while waiting for AMD's (R9-290,R9-290X) Hawaii release as Nvidia's TITAN and GTX780 pricing where too extreme for me at the time,
so i just went for the GTX770 with the thought of grabbing one more for SLI when prices drop.

So goodbye Kepler for good....Waiting for Maxwell now.

EDIT: With these price adjustments and with the GTX 780 ti release,
i really feel sorry for those who spend their hard earned cash on the GTX780 and especially the TITAN (it was a TITAN on $$$cost not Performance).

I would really like to know how 1300+ core classy compares to 1200 core Ti, and if its worth $120 premium

Good luck with that. The best place for such review would be Linus on YouTube, he always tests the cards at their max oc. So he'll probably review the ti oc vs regular 780 oc.

Nvidia announced the 780ti as their new high end card and now thanks to the Galaxytech GeForce GTX 780 Ti Spec Sheet Leak,
we now know that It is a full GK110 GPU but with only 3gb instead of 6gb being priced at roughly $700.
Even though Nvidia is passing it to us as their new flagship gpu,we all know from the past that TI gpu's where never the high end cards of their respective series.
For example the 500 series gpu's has the 560ti, 600 series has the 660ti and now the 700 series has the 780 ti.
What i am trying to say is that i am pretty sure Nvidia has another 700 series gpu up their sleeves before Maxwell.
With the GTX 780ti being priced at $700 and with only 3gb of vram, that leaves Nvidia another gap to fill.

Their new $1000 TITAN GPU. and i am pretty sure that there will be one.

Well rumour now is NV is also doing special edition 780 Ti

6GB an 12GB VRAM special edition in black

Unlimited TDP basically similar to uber mode for 290x

http://***************/47530/nvidia-...pecial-edition

Quote:
NVIDIA is also planning to launch a faster variant of GeForce GTX 780 Ti. Just as I told you in my previous post, GTX 780 Ti will also be available in 6GB and 12GB variants, these cards will be available in special, possibly limited editions.

I don’t know the exact name of these cards yet, so I will just refer to them as ‘special editions’.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 Ti special black edition
While the original GTX 780 Ti will run at 876/928 MHz clocks, the exclusive special edition will boost to 1000/1033 MHz (unconfirmed). Both variants will have the same memory clock of 7 GHz. The clock speeds are not the only difference. The faster GTX 780 TI has no TDP limit (at least on paper). This card is basically what Uber Mode is to R9 290X, only here you get higher clocks and more memory.

According to our sources, GeForce GTX 780 Ti will arrive with black cooler, so this is more than just a new BIOS.

The rest of the specs shouldn’t really change much. I don’t know if this card is going to be released along with 3GB models, all we know for certain, is that it will not be cheap.

Please note, the picture is just my interpretation of the ‘black 780 Ti’.
