Default game for windows live. the conversion to steam STARTS!!! - 10-18-2013, 16:22 | posts: 2,532 | Location: in your closet

if you didnt have the game for windows live games installed through steam. you might be able to now..

some steam games already started patching games that used games for windows live.

and gamefly is switching the games to steam intergration.

my batman games on gamefly now have steam intergration

edit.. steam says keys are invalid, even though gamefly is giving instructions to activate on steam

I can't help thinking this should have been wholly unnecessary. If only publishers would have made the right choice back when they were developping their games.

I'm still waiting on GTA4 to change over, currently using Xliveless because I'm not able to sign in while in-game for some bizarre reason
I'm glad 2K had the sense and changed Bioshock 2 over

Or better yet just make the games not require any form of DRM

Steam has upgrade any normal versions of Batman AA and AC to the GOTY for free which is nice.

I'm just waiting on my retail AA key to work

There have been Steam ID entries for the Halo trilogy in the Steam database.
Also the question has been posed to Certain Affinity who worked on Halo Anniversary, and they will neither confirm or deny that they are working on a Halo 3 PC port, and are being very cryptic about it.

Probably within the same window as Gears of War 2 & 3...Aka never.

There's no point for Microsoft to release those games on PC, it would weaken the brands.

Gears of War 2 and 3 are excellent and look supremely impressive considering the hardware they run on. I would very much welcome them on PC but alas this isn't happening.

Given that GFWL is being shut down there's hope that Epic releases the first Gears on Steam, after all the digital version is not available for purchase and I don't think it makes business sense for Epic to keep things that way.
Steamworks is integrated within UE3 since 2010 as well.

I was reading somewhere that microsoft didn't want GoW 2-3 on PC because it didn't sell well. Probably because you couldn't buy it anywhere.

Epic didn't want to release Gears 2 on PC because of piracy and low sales of Gears 1.
I have no idea what the hell they were thinking, I'm positive Gears 1 would have sold a lot more on PC had it been not plagued by GFWL.

Epic own the Gears IP, the lack of Gears 2 & 3 on PC is their call.

Yes.
Cliffy made a statement as Gears 2 was getting close to release, saying that they wouldn't bring it to PC because it's too easy for PC gamers to pirate games.
That piracy hurt Gears of War's PC release and they wouldn't do that again.

Then, a month before it's release, Gears 2 was pirated for the 360. As was Gears 3.
Epic are idiots. Hopefully with Cliffy gone they can actually start making some "good" decisions.
Bringing those games to PC now would be a good thing.
And, Kezen, I don't see how bringing HALO 3 (remember, HALO 1 and 2 are on PC) to PC would weaken the brand.

I really think that the pirate statemet isn't the truth. It's just that GoW and Halo are Xbox brand games. Like Gran Turismo for Playstation.
Xbox needs a seller.

2. Select Activate a Product on Steam..

3. Click Next.

4. Click I Agree.

5. Enter your CD Key and select next once the game finishes downloading you will be able to play the game.

Games that dont come on PC dont come because they push hardware sales /exclusivity
Those that come late come late for the aforementioned reason and for the double dip effect. Aka PC gamers who will buy the likes of GTA and w/e Ubi yearly franchise game twice because they cannot wait 6 months. As for the argument of piracy, when it comes to franchises and brand names, irregardless of what corporate weasels are willing to say in public, they actually help boost their sales by spreading awareness of their product long term. It's as usual the small time companies and indie devs that get the shaft on that front. You know, the ones that don't even use DRM and dont rely on franchising

A load of crap quite frankly.

There are two major crowds of gamers, PC gamers and Console gamers.
And in between the two we have a comparatively small minority that will do both.
Nor has console exclusives like Halo 3 and forward ever been the driving force of Xbox sales.

Microsoft has far more to gain from releasing the rest of the Halo series on Windows than they have to loose from it.
